Hi,
As you know most ppl say namaste my joining the palm of their hands in front of their heart. The below image is an example of Namaste

The photo you have posted is an example of rude namaste without any respect or feelings. Looks like that dude in above photo had to do namaskar reluctantly. He has a reluctant face.
Namaskar or Namaste is done by pressing both hands together with both palms touching each other and finger pointing upwards, hands near the chest. And a slight bow of the neck or back is a must, it is to show respect and humility. If a person doesn't bow then it is considered as rude.

Sometimes, When one of my arms is busy, I usually take my right hand and put my little, ring, and middle finger on the heart and slightly bow and say Namaste. I don't know where i picked this up, but this has become in some way my standard of greeting other desis.
I looked up on wiki for more info on this style of greeting but couldn't find it, does anyone have any info on this?
I have seen some people doing shake hands then after that placing their right hand on the chest and bow a little. But the way you greet looks like your personal greeting style. But its fine as long as you are respectful and the other person can feel that you are been respectful to him or her then any kind of greeting is fine.
