Male: Sanjay Dutt
Female: Rani Mukherjee

Now I like Sanjay Dutt because he is just so kick @$$. I liked him in Plan (Muuuuussaaaaa) and he just charms every women that comes near him.

Well I like Priyanka but in regards to acting I've got to go with Rani on this one.

What about you guys? For some reason I think I'll only be seeing SRK and Aish...

What movie is this? I haven't seen a Bollywood movie in ages. The last one I remember watching is probably Krrish.

I'm not surprised. Bollywood movies always rip-off Hollywood movies (while Hollywood always remakes East Asian movies).

For the girls, Aishwarya Rai looks great but I don't think of her as a great entertainer. I'd probably have to go with Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta as my favourite female entertainers, especially when they're together.

As for the guys, I probably prefer Aamir Khan over Shah Rukh Khan. SRK keeps doing the same stuff, while Aamir can pull off more diverse roles.

Oh wow.. now that I think about is Aamir Khan is a really good actor too. I think he'd be a favourite for me alongside SRK.

Shiny Ahuja, Ganster was the best movie of last year.

Ah, Karisma is my friend favorite (the one that likes Esha). I always make fun of him by bringing up the scene where she was pregnant in that one movie. Uggh cant remember the name! He does not like Kareena though (which I also rub in his face) icon_smile.gif

I think Aish is overrated. If she was a mediocre star, then Id say shes cool. But shes too overexposed IMO and carries Bollywood on her shoulders (in regards to the Western world). Priety Zinta is cool too, I like her.

I totally forgot about Amir Khan. Whats that movie where he's in the cricket thing? Ughh cant remember that one either! I still like Sanjay Dutt though (Muuuusssaaaa).

Ah Mission Kashmir was a good movie. That bad guy gave me some laughs though (the one that was controlling Hrithik). I liked the part when Sanjay was asked about his wife (because she is Hindu and hes Muslim). I loved what he said (cant remember exactly, but the gist of it).

He doesn't give off that feminine and air-headed vibe that other Bollywood actors do...It's probably more about how he carries himself. I can't help but being biased towards someone's personality and presentation when it comes to how they look. icon_redface.gif

I almost forgot about Karisma. I used to have a crush on her in my early teens.

I think the over-exposure all started when Julia Roberts overrated her by calling her the most beautiful woman in the world. Ever since then, the Western media has been jumping on the bandwagon.

That cricket movie Aamir Khan did was Lagaan (Tax). I remember the movie got nominated for an Oscar a few years ago.

Ah ya, Lagaan, great movie. I remember that Oscar thing too, which led me to rent it.

Whos considered bigger in India, Aishwayrya Rai or Amitabh? I figure its Amitabh since hes a legend but I hear of Aish more in the news (Western) and see more of her on Bollywood shows.

I know that, I mentioned that in the top. I meant on the site layout and stuff. Maybe even some of the movie too.

dude, SRK is a bad motherfu-ker. All he needs to do is run over some homeless people, shoot more endangered animals, and beat more women, then he'll reach bad motherfu-ker nirvana.

Salman Khan did those things, not SRK (ShahRukh Khan).

That's what you're led to believe. SRK is too much of a badass not to do those things.

Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan are more well-known in the subcontinent but Aishwarya Rai is more well-known in the West (and more recently, Shilpa Shetty).

I don't think Aishwarya Rai is well known internationally. If I go out and ask someone if they know Aishwarya Rai, they will draw blanks. Don't know about Britain though.
Jagger
Aishwarya is still more well-known in the West than any other Bollywood star I can think of, especially in the modelling world. Shilpa is the most well-known Bollywood star in Britain ever since she did Big Brother, with all the bullying/racism controversy and then her being voted the winner (she was all over the British tabloids for quite a while).

So what really counts is the West or Indias perception?

Also that Shilpa thing I remember reading about. Can that even be considered racist? Dont remember the exact comment, but it had to do with the food, right?

Also, isnt the movie shes most known for in India Phir Milenge (I think its with Salman)?

I believe how they are received in their native country should always be more important, but it depends.

That wasn't the only comment, there were many more ignorant comments. I wouldn't consider it "racism", but cultural ignorance, which is still just as bad.

I haven't seen that movie, but I don't think it was successful enough to revive her career. The Big Brother controversy probably gave her career a bigger boost in both Britain and India.

I figured that if she has more notoriety in the West, that means more foreign people watching Bollywood. But ya I do agree with you about what should be more important is the home country.

You know if it was a black person there would have been a lawsuit laugh.gif But seriously, I thought it was only the food thing and by that alone I thought it was something that was taken out of proportion but now that you said there was more.

Well that movie was before Big Brother. It had to do about the AIDS issue in India. I was just asking if that was the biggest movie she starred in. She isnt considered A List, is she?
