have anyone watched it?, i burrowing it off my cousin tomorrow and was just wondering what everyone around here think of the movies, i heard people say it's the scariest movie, (not sure if it's true)

I've seen it. It's pretty good but since I saw the English version first I kinda preferred it more than the original. But I watched the other movies in the Ring Series, and some of them were pretty freaky. Like the one where Samara is still alive and how she died.

I didn't find the Japanese version scary at all.

yes, The Ring/Ringu was the first one. Later there was a sequel to it called Spiral but it bombed so they made a new sequel called Ringu 2, followed by Ringu 0: Birthday. Plus I think the movie was based on a book and then turned into a TV show and now I heard there are some Korean remakes of the Ring.

same with you, i've seen the english version of it before i watch the original...
i would say its better and more scary.
but i must say that i was also scared with it,
but one thing more...
i hate the 2nd and the 3rd part of it...

I seen it, I found it better than the American version...it scared me more. The American version didn't scare me at all.

yeah, i saw the american version before the japanese version and i guess it's scarier..haha..you should watch it with someone who gets easily afraid sitting next to you so you can scare them like i did...hehe

When I watched the original Ringu for the first time, I proper $hit myself. At the time I just relocated for a new job, and my flat had no furniture so I was watching the movie in the dark on the floor and throughout the movie I was checking behind me. I was convinced that some freaky girl was gonna crawl out from a dark corner of the flat. The scene where the girl crawls out of the TV honestly made me believe that $hit could happen.

My friends thought it was funny that a movie could scare a big guy like me , so I lent them the movie and all of them wouldn't dare turn the lights off after seeing the film.

it was scary.. but i get scared easily... i forgot how long i had a feeling everytime i close the light that i see a shadow of a girl somewhere in the room.. *just reminded herself* oh great.. i think im gonna scare myself again..

i never seen the original version..but i would like to...its just something about asian horror flix that scares meh...hehe...like i saw the previews for the grudge...ughh...since i saw the part where sarah gellar is taking a shower and a hand comes out of her head haha...i always think its gona happen to meh..poo...

i saw the first half of it.. i dunno why but i freak out easily... so yah.. i was scared outta my mind... and the english version is so scary also.. everytime i close the lights im afraid to look at the TV in my room... so creepy.. TT___TT

the american ring was sooo scary :O i thught that it was the most scariest movie ever made... but then teh Japanese one didnt seem as scary. kinda bored me.

7 days A slow and painful death I didnt think The Ring was scary @ all. Go see Lord of Illusions or Witchboard. They were scary 80s movies that freaked the s-hit out of me

I unfortunately saw the American version before the Japanese one. I still thought the American one was a rip off.

The American version was still scary, but some parts of it were, IMO, cheap scary tactics that beared no relation to the storyline. E.g. with the cord through the throat...

In the Japanese version, all the scary images did bear relation to the storyline, and hence, allowed for the sequel, and the trilogy. (I wonder what the American sequel to The Ring will be like.? )


Anyway, you should see the trilogy for The Ring (japanese) it is damn scary, and the main actress in it is very pretty.
