the people playing those characters are modern day Chinese people who have obviously mixed. It's like watching the Rome series and concluding that ancient Romans looked like the guys who played Vorenus and Pullo.
mixed with what? there's no reason to believe they'd look radically different unless you think all of them look like this (-.-) like they do in some paintings.

Yes I know I was just kidding. The Han Chinese was always significantly larger than its neighbors. We had a tendency to make some of our nearby neighbors to disappear out of thin air

Mongolian population almost being extermintaed by ZHu yuan zhuang his ming army .
The survival mongols fleed into yun nan province and fiercely deny they ethnic identity as mongol
as for survie from Han people's pursue

The ruling class of the early Tang was not pure Han but mixed with Xianbei or Sianbi as mongolians call it, very related to mongols.
Both Tang taizong's mother and wife were xianbei and should be more mongolian looking.

Yes, they used to do Seiza until Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period.

Cameras didn't exist in the Tang Dynasty. The earliest camera device was invented by Alhazen in Iraq in the 11th century.
