You know that you guys are only hurting the Young Vietnamese Film industry by bootlegging right?
asean.asia
You mean that propaganda film. Puppet vnch call themselves "nationalist" ... it makes me laugh. Let's go ask their creator, the US, to see what they see of them. embarassedlaugh.gif

Since when do Vietnamese respect intellectual property rights? Video store owners have been pirating movies for years and renting them out for cheap. So, be true to ourselves and bootleg with immunity. Besides, the movie was already sold to a distributor, so no harm was done to the Vietnamese film makers.

If possible, make a trip down to Washington, DC. It's still showing at the Regal Ballston theater in Arlington. I just saw it last Sunday when I was there.

Well-made movie, I'd say. Nothing in the movie was especially surprising to me, but the storyline was played out in a subtle and genuine way that makes it pretty moving.

take your g@@k @$$ to the theater.....i watched it with the vietnamese homie, its depressing all throughout the whole movie, but very insightful and heartfelt

I just move the bar to see all the parts with our soldiers in it, especially when they speak. The best part is the one to one conversation when everyone is asked to leave the room. I pretty much like that kind of talking to puppet vnch.

The main character doesn't look like vietnamese, though he has vietnamese lastname. Probably his dad is vietnamese and his mom is an ethnic minority.
cherrypie197
hey thanks for the link, but the dad somehow got a copy of the film as well. i'm doing a paper so i need the film. thanks!

I haven't seen it yet but many of those who did said they cried when watching it. My mother wants to watch it too. I saw the trailer but I got to say, Diem Lien is pretty.

the link was meant for people who have no access to the movie. You don't expect them to fly to another state to watch it, do you?

If the movie EVER make to my area, i'll definitely support them. I'll drag my family and friends (asian and non-asian) if i have to . Is that enough support? badteeth.gif

^Well, it is up to you. You can see it however you want to see it. As for me, bootlegging is hurting creativity. If you were a director like Victor Vu or Ham Tran, you mortgage your home and property just so that you can have enough money to invest in a film that you hope would contributed to the growth of Vietnamese Film Industry and here you have a guy with a camcorder stealing it from you. How would you feel? I believe that it is a disrespect for the artist. I hope that you would understand what I am trying to say.

I understand what you're trying to say, but let me ask you a question. Do you download Vietnamese music?
kpham001
^Nope! I only listen to it whenever it is play. But I have to admit that I have CDs that other people either buy or download it.

About a million of people fled Vietnam after the communist took over.

Millions of people stayed and celebrated.

whatever...its all good shrug.gif

speaking of movie...here's my idea(I usually prefer porn for it none stop action factor.):

They should make another movie call " Journey From Hell and Back". Supposedly, a true story about a Vietnamese village family living a poor but peaceful life. Then one summer the yanks came and slaughter the entire village in the most inhumane ways as possible such as: raping babies, old women, men, dogs, cats and other livestocks, slice off a dead girl's breast, cutting off ears, etc...

The main character returned from a porno shop and saw what happened from a far distance. The camera then focus on his shimmering teary eyes that show fire and a plumb of smoke rise and merged to the sky from the burning straw houses. He tried to run but he didn't get far, about half a mile away he was caught by VNCH as a suspected communist. They asked him some question, shaking, the man didn't say anything. He was probably shell-shocked of what happened. He just mumble--the VNCH then took out a long knife and thrust it in the man's stomach, slowly lift the knife up as blood clotting the man's throat and can no longer talk. He was left there in the grass waiting to die...Five minutes later the man's heart stops beating.

Yep that's it...the whole family and village were wiped out. He didn't get a change to escape in a boat if he wanted to. He didn't experience "educational camp", if he was qualified.

After the war ended millions of people march on the street celebrated, peace atlas. No more bomb dropping, raping, and killing.

Then the credits roll. rockon.gif

EDIT: If you don't like my movie then fu-k YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
