who here likes to go to anime conventions? they are a blast, no?

conventions are especially fun if you cosplay as a character you really love. then the people who share the same interests seem to gravitate towards you. even if you don't really like anime, go as a video game character or whatever! someone went as Jack Sparrow one time and he was pretty popular with the ladies lol.

i dressed as Link for my first convention and Mario for my most recent one which took place last weekend. because of that i got to meet a lot of nintendo fans, which is totally awesome because no group of people is as cool as nintendo fans (yeah, that's right). anyone cosplay too? ^_^

and if you hate anime conventions, cosplay, and life in general, don't troll this one and make your own thread, b!tches

i want to go to one. not that i'm a fan at all, i watch some, i just want to see people dressed. i heard from some anime fans that you could fine the coolest and weirdest.

I went to my first one last year unexpectedly with a bunch of buddies. We got there like at 111:30 am. It was held at the Anahiem Convention Center right next to Disneyland.

I had a blast. Great vibes from everyone and a lot of interesting things to look at. Watching people walk around in their costumes was the best part.

I've never been to an anime convention.
I haven't cosplayed, but I use to dress up for halloween when I was a kid.

that's like cosplaying, right?

nothing beats a bunch of overweight white kids trying to dress up as their favorite anime characters.

hm, i think i may end up going to the up coming anime convention this year. expect lots and lots of pictures of japanophiles.

i've never been to one, but i'd like to go at least once just to see how it is

Duh, but what do they care? Thats why they go to conventions to hang out with their own kind.

lol and they look like the fatter and uglier version of the characters.

I like to go to the ones in Japan though.

The reason for japanese ones being better is because they have the right gear. The costumes are different to the fat white kids' ones.

you wont see the good ones in america... and besides, i think they try to hard.

yup, you can find the strangest people there. i mean, really creepy people. some people talk slowly and they have jerky speech and movements. those people are the weirdest, especially if they're older.

yeah pretty much except you usually make your own costumes for cosplay. some people take it more seriously than dressing up for halloween though.
