"Sea level rise in Asia will be between 1 to 3 mm annually, higher than the global average, causing deluge to low-lying areas of South, Southeast and East Asia such as in Vietnam, Bangladesh, India and China, the report observed.

Almost 60 per cent of the sea level increase will occur in South Asia (along coasts from Pakistan, through India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to Burma), while 20 per cent will occur in Southeast Asia specifically from Thailand to Vietnam including Indonesia and the Philippines, the report said."

Is there a way to replace gasoline with ocean war?

The rising sea level comes from the water of the iceberg that is broken due to global warming.

Since the sea lies lower than the earth, in the case that you mention about pumping water out of the earth, we need a machine that can do that. The machine needs to suck the water out of the sea and into the dirt and goes up which goes directly against gravity. This is very hard to do.

That would probably ignite war since we would need more land for our population.

Not really. Just the east coast would be swamped which is still disasterous. There would be huge migrations to central Vietnam. I think it is best if Vietnam prepares now and start cultivating middle Vietnam to prepare for the huge migrations there if global warming becomes disasterous.

It's probably a good time to pick the brains of the Dutch about effective sea dyke building and management. We are probably going to have to build desalinization plants, and we will have to pick the brains of the Israelis on the subject of water manegement within the context of agriculture. Aside from that, we may have to look into developing new varieties of agricultural plants that are drought resistant. This effort is a b!tch and a bear, but it beats dying from thirst, starvation and flooding anytime.
