Just out of curiosity.... i'm not sure if there's a thread on this already or not but i couldn't find it (but i was able to find one on hmong leaders)....... anyways... does anyone know any hmong politicans that are out there besides Mee Moua and GVP.. i dont consider him as one..but some of you might...and other people out there? i haven't been updated with the hmong community for awhile now so yeah.. just trying to keep my info up to date.. thanks
Alive or dead also? There are/were alot of active people. One of the first big Hmong politicians of course was
Touby Lyfoung! But he's long gone. He was very involved in Laotian politics. It was during his time that the French started to recognize the political importance of Hmong in Indochina. He worked towards the peace in Laos. He was a military leader also, led forces against Japanese during WW2. Even GVP served under him against the Japanese before he became a general. Unfortunately Touby Lyfoung stayed behind after the communist takeover. Him and many others including members of Lao royalty were imprisoned and died in them communist re-education camps.

If you want a Hmong leader role model...he's your man!

There's also people that did good things like Dr. Pob Zeb Vang that just passed away not long ago. (I think he is the reason they officially recognize us as Hmong instead of Miao or Meo

You can still see "meo" written in the descriptions on old pics from back during the war by Americans and French)
