Does anyone know the job market down there? My bf and I will be college grades with a BS in Bio for him and a BA in English for me... We are just trying to escape New England.

for fu-k sake why? Tampa sucks. Most of florida sucks. New England has a much better thriving economy with more opportunities. Tampa is just this huge suburban sprawl. What's so bad bout New England?
tokadah
^Tampa is cheaper overall.

There is more to life than fu-king money. I'd rather live in Manhattan and be fu-king poor than to be rich in the middle of a suburban hellhole like Tampa or where I'm living right now.

There's really nothing to do in Tampa. I really you recommend you built up your resumes in a place where you're likely to get decent jobs like the Northeast.
tokadah
I'm amused by you. You should realize that people have different opinions.

They're gonna regret it so bad.

Without graduate school, I don't anything particularly attractive especially in Florida overall. I could be wrong.

there's really nothing for those degrees; however, you can use the bio degree to apply for medical school or something in the medical profession. Since Florida is a retirement/tourist state, we have a lot of elderly people (they tend to get sick often). So with any health profession degree, you're guarantee to have a job.

you say that now, but when you're actually poor, i don't know you'll be saying this.

you can't be bored to death. there's plenty to do: watersports, beaches, nightclubs/bars/restuarants, disney world (all other theme parks), concerts, and etc. It's a slow pace state, not like NY.
