Just heard about this a couple of days ago, not sure if anyone else knows about this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z56X0RxCnNADont think we are going to get it in the states.
Like the Thai music opening in the beginning and the bowing to the Buddah, man they know how to make it inspiring and good. NBC makes the best promos.

Ya I read that. Apparently they pushed back the date (not sure how old the article was that I read it).
Who won on Contender 2? I saw all the way up to the episode prior to the finale. Did that black guy in the yellow win (I think his girl was white)?
I sort of was rooting for Norberto, he seemed humble and would be the most to gain from it.

The dude in the blue team, Grady Brewer won. He out boxed Steve Forbes, I think that's the guy your talking bout, Grady has a white girl too.
Who's Norberto?
I thought the guy K-9 had beef with, was a good boxer but he sucked against K-9. K-9 doesn't even look middleweight, some BS scales.

Sorry about that, I meant Grady. For some reason I thought he was yellow

He is really good, expected him to win. For some reason (even though he doesnt look like him) he reminds me of the Rock.
Norberto is the hispanic dude, the one that said something like that was his last chance?
On wiki it says that K9 is 150 lbs.

I forgot who Norberto was, is he the one that's lanky or the bald dude with the walrus mustache?
K9 is big, he just doesn't look 150 but he is short so it's possible.

muay thai is getting popular and popular
i admit, i was caught up with the phenomenon myself
Kenichi
Jul 23 2007, 04:29 AM
When was the phenomenon? I'm guessing when Buakaw came in.
You taking up Muay Thai now?
BirdFeed
Jul 23 2007, 05:47 AM
yeah probably in 2004 when buakaw was on the scene, particularly in k-1
took up muay thai at the beginning of the year now because i saw footage of buakaw in action

I am just wondering why kickboxing is not popular mainstream yet. Contender Muay thai will offer something new and exotic for the USA television/fight fans.
It's more entertaining to watch than boxing for some people....and also doesn't have the grappling for the people that hate UFC/PRIDE because "guys just hug eachother on the ground"
I'm guessing Contender: MT will have Professional contestants so it will be very entertaining. Like an in-depth K1-Max!
The trailer is awesome...Yod is gonna be in there too.

I saw one episode on youtube and it was kinda boring.
Like watching those stupid Big brother shows but with a bunch of guys. And the fights are all edited and $hit.

i just started watching last night in versus, how could i have missed this one! Nareupol dude was pretty good, except he lost to the other thai right? i think they should have more Asian contenders like cambodians or laos to make it fair, it's like Westerners with two thais.
BirdFeed

www.contenderasiafans.com to d/l all the ep.
yeah followed this when it first came out which was like since march/april
tbh it was more so about the drama than the muay thai, probably the reason there were more westerners than asian dudes. they didnt even have a dutch or japanese fighter in the competition but three aussies
flipcombatmedic
Aug 11 2008, 07:17 PM
^three aussie? really? i mean i know it sucked that there were mostly westerners, but i thought it wasn't bad that they were actually from differnet countries. the french guy was the most entertaining...not so much his fighting but his attitude.

yeah rafik is what made the first series interesting at the start, but the more interesting players kept getting knocked off one by one till you had unity within the house -_-

i can't remember much of that fight, it's been months since i watched that fight but top of my memory yod was just too strong.
didn't naruepol go conservative? in the first fight he did the same thing against that american fighter, eyeing him out then went into second gear by the second round. but yodsanklai is relentless in his fighting and nothing changed when he approached the naruepol fight, i actually felt sorry for bruce when they fought

yeah yodsenklai went all out on all the fights. he jumped on naruepol and pretty much got most of the momentum. he has devastating kicks. as for the bruce fight, i actually thought it wasn't too bad, cuz he didn't get knocked out.
