One time I was in the library pretending to do my homework and I saw my "friend" with this white dude. They were having a conversation which all sounded like "blah blah blah" to me, but there is one phrase that catched my attention. That was "I like you, You can come to my house and bang my sister anytime ".

That was IT! the guy is a genius! The best way to promote one's culture is to share women. Sadly, He is no longer my friend. I don't hang out with him ever since. However I can testify for him that it was a success-- all of his sisters are married to white dudes. The white guys love Vietnamese cultures (or so it seems). One of them have a Myspace page with Vietnamese classical music (which I doubt the bastard understand it), his favorite food is pho!! and wears a fu-king straw hat....

So the magic words are "I like you, You can come to my house and bang my sister anytime". Be warned though, It only works on straight guys and lesbian.

When I go to Asian restaurants and other businesses and pay with my credit card, they see my Vietnamese sounding last name, and think, "oh, this young handsome boy is Vietnamese." beerchug.gif

Some of my friends and I are setting up a scholarship foundation to help out the students in Vietnam with tuition.

Our goal is to help each student about $1,000 in tuition per year.

For the next academic year 2008-2009, we aim to raise about $10,000 so we can sponsor 10 students, each with $1,000 to pay their school tuition in Vietnam.

That sounds great. What's the criteria?

We will have a website about this non-profit organization coming out soon, around the first quarter of 2008.

I will keep you and others in here updated about the website once the documents are finalized and processed.

Thank you. icon_smile.gif

Promotion of Vietnamese culture really only applies to Viet Kieu populations. If anything, I'd want to see Vietnamese Americans learn more about their own culture (a lot of people nowadays are completely "white washed") than having some caucasian guy learning Vietnamese.
