horitaka you one funny mofo, if he really used that to flip girls i wonder if he'd get slapped or get "bastos".

the moros, and mindanaoans are supposed to be fiered and most of them are, i read some spanish accounts of spanish dudes getting abducted or tkaen prisoner after skirmishes and they get dragged into the forest where they'd get their scholonng sliced of and let there to die. i guess it had come with the fact taht they had to because of spanish aggression.

and yeah pacquiao kicked his @$$, it was just taht they were prejudiced against filipoinos.

ilocanos dirty, don't know about that my grandpa is ilocano and portuguese but he was raised in ilocos norte and yet he's like a compulsive cleaner, perfectionist.

ilocanos are cheap i heard that and some truth in it, my gramps again for example, bicolanos are more sexually open, and cebuanos love singing.
halohalo
I actually think cebuanos are more sexually open. I know at least 2 Cebuano girls who are very sexual. And I think they are less shy and more flirty.
flipcombatmedic
cebuanas...hmmm they are crazier, party wise. hey halo, nice seein you after a long whiles, you waray right, teach me some on the waray section.

Well I've never actually written in waray except maybe 'agi' nor do I really speak it except a few phrases like 'agi' but I'll try...um...maupay na gabi?embarassedlaugh.gif
flipcombatmedic
hmmm i wonder what that means. hehehe. anymore, you know i'm waray right, but manileno so no visaya for me.

not really. and what particular visayan? cebuano-speaking visayans? actually the cebuano-speaking visayans speak better english than those who have tagalog-speaking tongues. kasi cebuano has lesser intonations. and if properly educated, you'd pass a cebuano for a fil-am. obvious yung tagalog mag-english e.. i don't know if you notice it. beerchug.gif

dalawapo: is 'agi' waray too? coz "agi" in ilonggo/hiligaynon means "gay or faggot".
Ek-ek
I do not think that visayan people were bad in their English pronounciation compared to other groups.

agi means ouch in waray. As for speaking english, well most Filipinos frm PI, if they go to another country, they tend to have a noticeable accent. And it also depends on how well you were taught pronounciation I guess. I dont know but frm my observations, Visayans (Cebuanos/Warays) tend to speak in hard tones. What I mean by that is sometimes they pronounce 'e' as 'ee'.

Example (frm a Cebuano frnd):

Ethel - (Eetil), don't lie or you will go to hell - (hill).

well maybe, I dont know, all I know is that it's a lot easier to pronounce English than some Visayan words embarassedlaugh.gif
Forumwalker
that's because some visayan words are not pronounced the way they are spelled.. sort of uh, french..
flipcombatmedic
oh ilocanos use the i for e and u for o too. i hear them all the time when they try to speak tagalog.

to ekek yup i use to have a hard time, when i just got here.

to dalawapo yep it's like that, i guess it's just it's the dialect difference, same words different pronounciation.

it;s because they follow the castillian way of using ll as ly. so many read double letters as that letter followed by y sound like zy for zz. and we can't really say zee so it's sya or cha.

some call sauce, sauws. but to me i don't and can't blame them, i was on those shoes, having hardest time speaking straight, it wasn't really the speaking it was speaking without the accent. i kinda learned how to hold my tongue in a different angle to produce the right sound.

that's because english words are simply translated like that.. just like i.e. "electronics - elektroniks". well, if im wrong, give me the Pilipino for "restaurant" then.. beerchug.gif
parok_mah
but be it known that the filipinos have the most flexible tongue in whole asia.. or in the world. for example.. fillipinos in the states can speak better english than the japanese or chinese. in dive shops in the visayas, most dive masters can easily converse using the japanese language. chinese is also one of the languages filipinos can easilly adopt. spanish is still taught in the phillipines in some colleges. korean language is used in some tae kwon do gyms. pilipinos are known for their ability to adopt.. may it be languages, culture, and religion. yet, there still exist the pride of being a pilipino.. despite the fact that some of them are ashamed to be one. shame to them!!!

i think a lot of pinoys have difficulty speaking english because their language uses a hard tongue (as in matigas ang dila----->sorry for the lame translation icon_redface.gif ). we went to bacolod and there's this guy who said: mich, gusto mo ng baRRRbekyoh? LOL!

=========

about cebuano girls being more sexually open or something, i don't know but i think girls from bacolod are also like this. they are more open to one night stands and such. they were my classmates in manila and they said to me and my girl friends that we're nice blah blah blah because we're more conservative than they are.
