Cambodia Economic Forum on Rural Economy Development

Cambodia economic forum was held at the Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh on May 9 in the presence of Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen.



In his address presented at the forum, the Cambodia premier raised a number of critical issues for consideration and request recommendations from the participants on the areas to enhance the livelihoods of rural in habitants, relating to rural infrastructure: electricity, roads and water, to rural finance and technical assistance, agricultural inputs and practices, to land management, to private sector involvement, and to role of the state.



The Economic forum, the second of its kind, was organized by the Supreme National Economic Council (SNEC) of Cambodia in collaboration with the United National Development Program (UNDP) and ADB.



The first Cambodia Economic Forum was held in January 2006, which gave central attention to economic opportunities and threats facing Cambodia.--AKP
