Hi Californians!
My family and I are moving to Southern California in June, and still haven't decided which county to move to. My brother is going into 9th grade, so the school district is very important as well as the quality of the neighborhood. Can you tell me a little about Irvine, Yorba Linda, and Mission Viejo? What are the mjor difference btwn them? Is Yorba Linda a rural neighborhood in the mountains? Thanks!

God, i hate socal. The people and traffic there is crazy.
I've been Irvine. It was pretty cool, it's a college county but like all counties in California there's good areas and bad areas.
I've heard Yorba Linda was nice. A middle class area.

Irvine, Yorba Linda, and Mission Viejo?
Danye. I evny you guys. those are very expensive communities. What do your parents do for a living? I live an hour east of those cities in San Bernardino. Its very ghetto and dangerous here.

All three communities are upper-middle class communities. Out of those 3, i think Irvine is the best if you're a college person.

not so true buddy. have you been to palos verdes estates, rancho palos verdes zip codes 90274, 90275. there are lot of ranches and you'll see horses on the trails. good neighborhood and schools, but very far from the freeways.

Wow, so that'd be wonderful if you never have occasion to venture outside of palos verdes or lived like Woody Harrelson.
When I lived in socal I worked from home so avoided having to commute...even then I still had the need to run errands, visit friends, and the like that necessitated getting on the freeway at least a few times a week.

How's the weather there though. It's so hot here in upstate NY right now...around 80 degrees (although yesterday and today was pretty cool) and soooooo~ humid! What kind of weather should I expect when I get to Irvine around mid-June? I've heard from some people that Irvine is cooler than upstate NY during the summer, but I have a hard time believing it b/c it's more South...
