Workout and eat more calorie (500 more) than you normally would on a daily basis. I gained ~10lbs within 3 months.

If you want to go extreme, consume 5000 calories a day and workout constantly. I gained 40 lbs in about a month like that.

eat eat eat... i gained like 20lbs in 4 months. kept 15lbs of it still.
i literally ate till i felt like puking constantly. even if i didnt want to eat i ate.
also worked out atleast an hour a day. no cardio just lifted weights. I drank protein shakes and creatine, not sure if it helped but it adds to the calorie intake.
its hard work, i still havnt been able to get back in that routine again.

^ What do they say?
Try starting off with about five hundred calories more per day, with lotsof proteins. Remember to workout, but not anything but weight training. And try eating less food with calcium.

A couple summers ago, I gained like 20-25 lbs of muscle and I've kept it on so here's what you gotta do:
Eat 4-5 meals a day, but good lean stuff: Chicken breasts, eggs, peanut butter, pork, beef, fruits, veggies.
Take whey protein twice a day (the 20g per scoop kind) .
Work out with weights 4 times a week (every other day is best), maybe cardio 1-2 times a week.
I'm a guy and it sounds like you're a girl, but something like this is good. Good luck to you.

gosh guys, I only want to gain 5 lbs...20-40 lbs? If I gain 20-40 lbs I will be very very very big for my size...
I think I'll take on the eating part...I don't like to exercise =)

dont go down that protein path lol.
and no eat + sleep lol.
Just stay active, play sports, work out, no need to force yourself to eat too much, if you remain active your body shud be in a high metabolic state and you'll eat more naturally.
*Oh and remember results dont come overnight, so you gotta keep it up for awhile and it'll pay off.
[edit] btw eat + no exercise = fat. simple.
