You can get plenty of that in Suntech city basement food counter and Isetan . They are called Doriku. By the way, the new flavour on he way is green tea flavour and they are now fillings for all sorts of pastries. Green tea cakes are sold in Bread Talk. Have you also treid Horashima pancake noodles, the fried soba noodles or udon with any choice of ingrdeits sandwhiched btw 2 pancakes and the fired noodles wrapped in Omelett ? Thai Pad Thai, the aunthentic siamese fried kuay tiow wrapped in Omelett done the oruiginal bangkok way is also foudn in Takashymaya. Not to mention Nasi pattyha , the Thai version of nasi goreng wraaped in cushion sqaure yellow omelett to appease and appeal to the Royal eye. Innovations these days include the gren chiffon flavoured panada waffle filled with Red bean, peabnut butter and kaya .
These are the more genuine Savoury SEA ones I reaaly dive for, not the commercialise Western pancake parlour stuff.
Other Chinese sweet crepes also have peanut and red bean pancakes . Penang crsipy version is the famous one of the Hokien palate. Nowadays, some of them come rolled up in sushui version pancake roll - a really delightful singaporean treat!
But at the end of the day, the malay huge orbish crepe , thick in flour and flavor-full in egg still wins the contest fothe day by tis sheer simpicity , ease to make , eat and buy. It is also very chewy . The idea is Indonesain from Jakarta . The Thick batter pancakes are two huge round disc sandwhiches filled with cruchy peanuts and brown sugar. Johore and Bajau version are filed wirth cream of sweet corn, adding a really sweet booth for the sweet tooth. Thier Singaporean counter so far to the best to my knowledge is avaialbe only at Sultan mosque Coffe shop and no where esle. They are a very exotic heritage cerpes not to be missed !
