why is that massage parlors in singapore are called "health centres"? is that just a play of words or the govt just want the massage thing on the low down? other countries like phil for example, a health centre is actually a govt health clinic.
tangawizi

oh come on man...you remind me of an artist from Korea which told me that he tot SG was as clean as a hospital....never tot of geylang really existed and joo chiat happening with vietnamese girls...

prostitution is the oldest trade in the world and it cannot be stop. Likewise, the SG govt gazetted Geylang as the official place for all these activities

yes i heard of geylang. but the thing is prostitution is legal.

what i meant to say was a health centre in SG is licensed to offer services like massage, sauna and steam services. but even in these places they still practice "extra services" discreetly. and in some cases ktv's in areas like joo chiat and little india.

in a law-abiding country like SG, some of these illegal trades still happen.

bro....govt always says that LOW CRIME DOES NOT MEAN NO CRIME. Anyway law abiding does not mean there is no corruption, no sleazy places etc

It happens bro....some are reported but largely some gives a blind eye...you cant control everything

Juz like when SG removed all visa requirement for china and vietnam citizen for the sake of government relation...but they knew these will open the floodgate of illegal trade in the entertainment industry...but they are interested in the big windfall they would get in establishing big business in both countries....besides it would also entertain them...why bother when you can kill 2 birds with one stone...or d!ck embarassedlaugh.gif

When there are demand, there must be reasonable supply our you will create more problems such as sexual crimes/offences.. the gov is well aware and legalised (with control) some as long as it does not compromise on the security and no complaints recieved. These girls come as a willing party (though they may have their family difficulties for coming into the trade) and not forced into prostitution by triads etc.

Many countries which claimed sex services illegal either on social reasons or religious beliefs have seen increase in sex crimes/offences.. sometime including child sex & forced prostitution..
