one man cannot unites the country.....the system is bias, the people are bias....unless something is being done to this system and the culture can change and improves, then there is better chance for people like anwar can make amends

Heck, people don't give a hoot over what he says nowadays. He played in the politics, but he lose out.

He should have retired & keep to himself, but no, he keep going on to capture his former glory. Well, Pak Lah has overshadowed him, & Anwar will be just another wannabe in Malaysian politics.

I agree.

If I'm not mistaken, before Pak Lah became PM, he was calling for equality etc, now after become PM, nothing more is said.

It amazes how callous some folks can be when it comes to Anwar Ibrahim.

Why do they disdain Mr Ibrahim so much juz cus he lost out in political in-fighting?? It reminds me of the local african behavior where the poor just looks up to the crooks as heroes juz cus they succeeded in bullying everyone else into submission. sucks! thumbsdown.gif

I feel sorry for Anwar Ibrahim for what happened to him and I agree he was the victim of politics. At the moment he is sueing Mahatir and I sincerely hope he wins.

Maybe I'm wrong but when Anwar was deputy PM, I don't remember hearing him champion the rights he is championing now. It seemed at the time he was happy to toe the political line, maybe because he was benefiting from it. But like I said, maybe I'm wrong.

^Yes when he with govt he talked and act like current govt leader. I wonder what make him change now.

^Yeah police those day more afraid with Mahathir than anything else. I sitted for SPM exam back then when Anwar got fired. Still remember when first announcement came out.....
When I visit Kuala Lumpur, I just spectator when other people doing reformasi... Hehehehe, I afraid I will end up in jail before I can apply for university....
tangawizi
Betong, were u really afraid during the time when Anwar was being arrested by Mahathir? Did u feel like wanting to join Anwar's reformasi but was afraid of ending up in jail? If so, I think u can say that Mahathir's reign was quite a reign of terror during those times...
Betong
^I heard too many stories back then. All of my friend told me if you get closed to reformasi rally you will caught by FRU and ending up in jail. But at that time I more afraid of FRU from Mahathir. Those FRU have been brainwashed until they didn't know what right or wrong.... Or maybe just too young to realized this thing plus everybody said that if you join the rally you will end up in jail. So I just don't want to take any chance.
Issit Mahathir time was reign of terror??? I didn't agree with that.. It just my opinion...
I didn't really like Anwar even when he still with UMNO .... So no chance I will risk my life for him. But I didn't believe he's gay too ????
