I thought this is a japanese restaurant.

A true Han restaurant only open in a bamboo forest ...
and you glide in for a drink with your girlfriend in a matching outfit.

hahaahahaha... my god!!! thatis a han restaurant? it is nice to bring back the han culture, but they should at least bring it back into the 21st century.. like put more space between table so people can walk back and forth without runnig over others. my congrats to them and hope they will succeed!!!

As much as the "grippingness" annoys the hell out of me...

It's a good thing to spread Han culture around China. It's about fvcking time that Chinese people started acting Chinese FFS
StephenDFAgain
seems kinda retarded to me.

Chinese haven't sat on the floor since the Song Dynasty. kneeling on the floor like that is really painful for those who aren't used to it. it takes like a week for your feet to get used to it and not fall asleep.

Mid-Night_Sun
mmm, the floor isnt working for me...
Walin
Not everything is Han, I see black electric cords running in the aisle. Talktohand.gif

It just amazes me the reaction that this thread is getting.

This is an example of why China is not already more advanced than Japan and South Korea.

If this were posted in the Korean or Japanese forums, everyone be like "well duh, we have those everywhere because we actually give a flying fvck about our heritage"

Whereas all you whitewashed ABCs are like WTF "our heritage, what's that?"

if i eat at that restaurant, i'd have to sit on my butt.

You mean kind of like... Korean and Japanese restaurants?

I don't know what people are so afraid of with this... this is nothing new, not even in the modern world.
StephenDFAgain
^^

Japanese don't sit on their butts. That's considered improper. You do "seiza." It's painful if you aren't used to it. It took me two weeks of kendo practice to be fine with it.

I want hanfu to revive, but it's kinda contrived to open up a restaurant where you have to dress up like that. Hanfu should be for occasions like weddings, holidays and public festivals. Japanese or Koreans don't need to open up restaurants where people need to wear kimono or hanbok. There's nothing natural about it.

Chinese furniture tradition is quite nice. The traditional Song or Ming furniture needs to be arranged in a certain way.

You can't revive something that has been lost. The Qing dynasty ruled China from 1644 to 1911. That's almost 300 years where Han Culture was suppressed and destroyed.

Just look at the pathetic attempt by some people in China to revive the Hanfu by parading it on the streets. They don't bring out the original elegance and spirit of the Hanfu at all.
