This is not a religious discussion. I was just wondering, since it seems like all the festivals in the Philippines have a religious theme, even if they didn't originally start off that way (Ati-Atihan) So i was just wondering how it must be for non-Catholics. That's gotta be kinda lonely. Or do they participate anyways? I can kinda relate because i'm Catholic and i live in the Bible Belt, so it's mostly Evangelical Protestants around here. A lot of the social activities are church related so I end up going sometimes to be w/ friends. On any given wednesday night you can find 20 Catholic kids in the First Baptist Church. So yeah, just wondering...

^Oo ok, well i was mostly talkin about Iglesia ni Cristo & Protestants. I knew Muslims wouldn't participate. And they probably have their own celebrations.

I normally just ignore all those Catholic parades and celebrations. I'm not Catholic and whatever they do for whatever reason has nothing to do with me.

But what really bothers me here in Palawan is that we only have one Department/supermarket. And at different intervals everything stops and every does the Hell Marys following along with something on the PA system. Then they go through this looooooooooong thing of singing to myriads of saints.

Go ahead and do all the Hell Marys you want, but why stop me from doing what I need to get done.

Arrogance, is what I call it.

^ Well it's good to kno that we dont let our religious differences get in the way of having a good time. Some ppl can go for religious reasons, some can go just to have fun, some can go for both reason beerchug.gif
