Hey people I am new here and yes I am Asian first Canadian and then Pakistani but I am Asian lol! Ok so I live up here is fantastic Toronto Canada where there are 2 Japanese language exchange groups in the city. Is there the same thing in your neck of the woods? How big are they and how many people usually go? Are their more Japanese then English speakers? Are their lots of weird old men and Otaku trying to hook up with Japanese girls? Tell us please! Well I'll go first.

1) University of Toronto at 2:30 p.m. every Saturday, the first half is English and the second half is Japanese and it goes until 5:00pm. It usually is really good there are lots of Japanese that come to do language exchange but there are not that many Canadians. Most of the English speakers that come are harmless they're cool but then there are some Otaku that come and bring their Puffy Ami Yumi videos on their lap tops and show off their J pop vids along with their manga but they are funny and harmless, sometimes (boy do I have some stories). Some of them are to aggressive and they scare away the Japanese females by asking them for phone numbers and then calling them all hours of the night, the old men that go there are the same way. If you talk to a girl that one of these otaku or old men like they get very angry and spread rumors about you that are not true. Even though there are some bad apples most of the people that go there are cool and just want t practice their Japanese and teach English. We need more regular Canadian people to come especially Canadian girls because there are lots of Japanese girls that want to make Canadian girl friends and I feel sorry for them that they have a hard time meeting Canadian females.

2) Japanada takes place at a coffee shop called Urban Coffee in Downtown Toronto. It's more of a get together of Japanese and Canadians and less a language exchange it more of a loose atmosphere and less formal like the UofT one. Most of the people there are cool yeah there are maybe one or two Otaku but most are regular Canadians. So yeah thats it for Toronto how about you guys?
