Hi,
I have visited Nagoya and Tokyo. What I have found is that there are very few fat Japanese persons. This is quite amazing to me.
When I was in Nagoya, I did not see a single fat Japanese person.
Amazing
BTW, I am from Singapore...

hmmm interesting. cuz it was like that in korea when i visited for a month and i toured the whole damn country. No fat people in sight. I hear cuz people in korea do a lot of walking. I had to do a lot of friggn walking when i was in korea too to get to places and i was getting so tired. Maybe thats how it is in japan too.

Asian in genereally doesn't have a lot of fat people when compare to Western civilization. Japanese has even lesser amount of fat people. I think it has to do with their diet and their daily walking. Japanese food is very healthy.

One: Low fat diet
Two: Lots of walking (Japan is ranked as #1 for the fastest walkers on a daily basis)
Three: Small serving sizes
Four: Social pressure to be thin

walking is hardly exercise, you lose like 80 calories max for a full days worth of walking
yeah what that guy above said about culture and thinness
and japanese foods are probably less high fructosy dominated.
just drinking soda every day is so bad for you.

Since when?

Slow-pace walking burns like 150 calories an hour.
Unfortunately their foods are now just as artificially flavored and sweetened as anywhere else. It's hard to find drinks without sucralose or aspartame in it now too. They're all obsessed with dieting. Foods are REALLY fattening (fried, greasy.. yeah) but their portion sizes are MUCH smaller.

Asians tend to be less chunky than other races. Though I have seen a few chunky asians but thats only about 1/10.
