That wasn't a fake American accent, that's called putting some thought into your speech, very very good. Some of my in-laws sound silly when they try to speak Gujarati without "trying."

It sounds more like British accent smash with Indian accent. She's HOT. I notice her eyes are blue. Is that normal in India or it depends on what ethnic group you are ?
jiggyiggy
If I had to put a number on it, I'd say light eyes(excluding light brown) have about a 5% occurence. Most of the people in my family and other Indians I've seen with light eyes are usually green or hazel. When I think about it the only people I've seen with blue eyes are old people.

They're not green. Brown yeah. Not green though.
JuicyFruit
^They're green. She's wearing brown contacts there like she has in Raincoat, Chokher Bali and a few other movies:

I think Aishwarya is quite proud of her Indian Heritage, but I think she came off as quite arrogant when she went on David Letterman.

I didn't say she spoke in an american accent. I meant tht she was trying way too hard to sound like like an american.

no she is not...

that's just how she sounds when she speak English...

Some of my Indian friends don't got an Indian accent...not because they are trying to imitate an American or British accent
but because of the environment they are in, i find that Indians who travels around the world tend to not have such a deep Indian accent...AIs rai
falls into that category...

Just because your Indian doesn't mean you have to got deep Indian accent...

I don't know if your familiar with the Jamaican accent, but for example i got one Indian friend who speaks Hindi with an Indian accent, but when he speak patois he has a totally different accent(like any typical jamaican), his not trying to sound jamaican, that accent just grown on him after he's been in jamaica for a whole 5 years...He don't sound indian at all...except for when he speak hindi...

And trust me patois is damn difficult to imitate for non-Jamaican...

While when other Indians who are in Jamaica tries to talk patois i just have to laugh, laugh.gif
Some people just adapt to certain accents more easily than others, just like ais rai travelling around the world- she probably won't sound so deep..

Just listen to Amitabh Bachchan- he doesn't sound Indian accent except for when he speak Hindi...

Seriously though vidisha pavate is not all that nice. There are far better dark skinned indians. Bips and padma lakhsmi come to mind.

I don't find vidisha facially attractive either. I thought Sheetal Mallar was one of India's top models? She's pretty dark and she's gorgeous, and I believe many Indians find her gorgeous too.

As for ais rai
Well, she was asked a question and she answered honestly..
Not saying all indians think like that but some do.

I don't see anything to get upset about.

dearest sonali, the real reason vidisha pavate is spit upon in bharat is because she is dating a gora. she decided to denounce desi men in an interview w/ simply shekar, some years back. same with ujjwala raut. and ujjwala even had a baby w/ a white man. so yeah... that kinda pisses people off. especially since the white guys they married aint even hot.

Wasn't Manisha Koirala dating an African guy?

And, what about Shashi Kapoor? Did he get spit on by marrying a white woman? I wonder if they would be more lenient on the men.

My mom said Manisha was dating a black guy, but I haven't seen any proof.

What did vidisha exactly say about Indian men? I remember reading an article where Indian fashion models were complaining that Indian men are intimidated by them, because the models will be making lots of money.

Yeah bips pics were all over RD and they were hating on her. I never thought bipasha was slutty...just sensual and comfortable with her body.

I didn't read the stories..just saw the pics on RD. It was just a stupid kiss. Freaking Europeans kiss their own relatives on the lips.
raindropz
she said she didnt kiss him, she kinda touches it in her entry for her official website

I had an interesting few days in Lisbon. Made some new friends. Had my bags go missing, endured some technical glitches on stage. But that’s life. At least I got to share a stage with two Oscar winning actors: Hillary Swank and Sir Ben Kingsley.

Hillary was the sweetest. When the luggage snafu happened, she offered me an outfit for the evening. We struck up quite a friendship. Ben Kingsley was very complimentary. Though being compared to Sophia Loren is a little humbling. Sir Paul McCartney had said the same six years ago.

I was overjoyed when the Taj Mahal was included in the Seven Wonders. Although I was very confident that it would make the list, opening that envelope was an immense thrill.

It’s natural to expect that most people around the world don’t know much about Hindi movies. And I found out how wrong I was. I met Christiano Ronaldo, who had a Hindi song for his cellphone ring-tone. He introduced me to his mother, who is another fan of Hindi movies. You learn something new every day.

As always, I came home to another nasty surprise from the media. It’s nice to know that the media circus is still playing. After receiving so much praise and international recognition, from extremely talented people, a silly rumour should be the least of my problems.

Some have even suggested that I planted the story myself as a publicity stunt. Now that doesn’t sound logical at all. I got more attention from the international media for this event than I could ever hope for. And for all the right reasons. Why would I want to curdle that with something like this.
