It's good to see Vietnam is ranked first in manufacturing; however, Vietnam needs to do a better job

at services so it can also be ranked in the top 10 for services as well as manufacturing.

Very, very exciting. I generally get the feeling that people are beginning to divest from China. It wouldn't surprise me to see China's economy begin to wind down as Vietnam's economy picks up.

The high ranking that UAR and Saudi get for services is a surprise to me. UAR has a bad rep (reputation) for taking advantage of foreign migrant labor - In fact, the Philippines banned them from recruiting in their country. And Saudi is one of the most closed, medieval societies in the world - What these guys think of non-Sunni Muslims is unprintable. Saudi knows how to exploit foreign domestic workers to the bone including sexual exploitation. I am not aware that UAR and Saudi have anything to offer the world that the world wants, except oil.

Which is better for development and wealth distribution: manufacturing or services?

You need both to have a balanced economy. An service-based economy tends to be friendlier with the environment as you do not need much land for development and there's much much less pollution. Manufacturing also creates services so it's vital to an economy. With globalization, emerging economies compete fiercely with established ones for services and manufacturing so we can think that both equally help out wealth distribution.

Agree with you. Those guys at PWC must have been paid for.

As for the video, the commentaries lead to a bitter smile : "women account for 75% of the univ pop and are more litterate than men..." But how many of them have a paid work ?!
