Almost every city in Korea is surrounded by a mountain or two... or three, or you get the picture. If you want casual hikes, then this is the country for you.

If however you really want to get away from it all... you'd best pick a smaller town or be prepared for a 8 hour drive on the weekends.

I only saw scenary in k-drama Autumn story. If I were to live in Korea , I would want to live there.

How far/long it would take to travel to Seoul from there, how about Pusan.

Where is the nearest international airport from there?

tks in advance, for answers.

By sokcho, I think you mean the coastal city?? It is quite far from Seoul, and I believe it has its own airport (only to Japan and China me thinks), but I'm not sure.

Go to North seoul for a more traditional and quiet atmosphere, south for more vibrant city life, technology, watching pro-gamers play their computer game matches, social activities, etc. Busan for a coastal city life. Elsewhere is pretty much just traditional country.

I would say that Daejon city is a decent spot to live. You would be centrally located and not that far from most of the other major cities and not really that far from the country side. From my experiences the food is decent, there are enough bars and clubs to enjoy nightlife, and its not too hectic to get around the city.

If you want a little smaller sized city I would recommend Kyong Ju. It has many historical sites, is less than an hour or so from Daegu a large city where you can enjoy nightlife and many restaurants especially around the Su Sung area. Kyong Ju also has the advantage of being not too far from Pohang which has some ok beaches. The only thing that I found was a bit bothersome is that Kyong Ju has a lot of tourist, which means that there are many restaurants that can be a little overpriced, but there are of course more inexpensive places if you look.

The official "best place to live" area is Bundang everyone. It's a satellite city of seoul located south of gangnam(the richest place in korea). It's close to the main city yet very clean and organized.
