Seriously, they need to hurry the hell up. I thought they found the replacement for Iroh already.

Yes this is an old thread but I had to comment that I use to say sort of the same thing. laugh.gif But unlike some here I lost track of the show after the first 10 episodes of season one. I really rediscovered the show this year. Did not even know it had ended for good last year.

Every week for the first 10 episode there use to be an avatar episode. Then they started having it every two weeks to a month. Thats when I lost track of the show. And by what some people say it seems the showings from one season to another were even longer.

At least now they show two episodes at least 5 times a week. So busy doing some catching up of the missed episodes even though have seen the ending already.

Its was really a good series.

The series already ended last year.

The final season, Book III, was a letdown. It's the weakest season.

In another news, Shyamalan's live-action version of "The Last Airbender" will come out on July 2, 2010. Shooting has already started and will wrap up by the end of this summer.

And the main cast will be, White.

Then again, I already know the movie will be a disaster, given Shyamalan's track record of making worse and worse movies.

The main cast is not entirely white anymore, although the casting is still messed-up. It looks like they cast the Water Tribe (who are supposed to be Inuits) as white people, the Fire Nation (who are supposed to be East Asians) as Indians/Iranians/Maoris, and the Earth Kingdom (who are supposed to be multi-cultural) as East Asians, while the casting for the Air Nomads is still unknown.

meh. knew that was coming.

fukn up dragonball a japanese anime was worse. white people made avatar. even the dude who did the kung fu for them was apparently white. so....w/e.
hgnis
I am quite disappointed, but not surprised the Hollywood know it alls did not stick to the essence of the series. One would have thought that with the failure of what they did with the DragonBall live action they would have learned. Guess not....

They did say the first movie would be true to Season one.

The movie director Shyamalan is the one who wrote the script for the movie which will be called "The Last Airbender".
They had to drop the "Avatar" part since there is another movie with that name.

This is the movie fan site for latest info.: http://lastairbenderfilm.com/

Seems today June 22 they will be having a trailer of the movie on the tv show " Entertainment Tonight" on Fox.

My guy likes Avatar. I don't really get it and think it's a rip off of Naruto a bit. icon_redface.gif

I hope Hollywood won't ruin Naruto too.
delgrodel
It's directed by Shyamalan and features all white actors and an Indian dude. You're actually eager to go out and watch this travesty? If I shoved garbage in your face, would you eat it?

Can't really see how the two can be compared -at least in terms of story and theme- but then again I don't watch/read Naruto.

Not really looking foward to this movie, but the original writers for Avatar are behind the script for the movie, so with that in mind I can't imagine this one being as horrible as the DB movie.

Replace all the Asian characters with white people and two middle eastern-looking people.

Except for one, the girl that falls in love with the guy. Yeah she has to be Asian.

I love the animated series but I'll skip the live-action movie.

embarassedlaugh.gif Funny parody.
There was a similar flash animation Star Wars parody featuring dancing stormtroopers, but I can't find it now.
However there is this silly Avatar/Star Wars combination animation.
Check out Chewbaccamomo.

And for a more serious fix, have a look at the teaser of the live-action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
From what I gather, they will drop "Avatar" from the title so that it will not get confused with James Cameron's unrelated Avatar movie.

The anime of Avatar: The Last Airbender has also done pretty well through Nickelodeon in the USA.
I was surprised to find that this was actually of American origin.
