Kurt Cobain (1967-1994)
^I think he's cooler because of it. It really would have sucked to watch him sell-out.
James Dean (1931-1955)
^Definitely cooler because of it. I wouldn't want to see his face all wrinkled on a salad dressing label.

Bruce Lee, definately he's legend is immortal, it would of been a shame to see him be defeated and killed in a fight.

No one said he was a good singer. His songs may not have been pitch perfect, but they had soul and depth. And Nirvana was basically a punk group, so the idea of them trying to be really great vocalists and musicians would have completely contradicted their style. He was a genius, whether he had a singing voice or not.

It's especially cool when the death is a suicide, like Cobain. And the fact that it was via a shotgun to the face adds even more coolness to it.

Steve Irwin (1962-2006), I perfer if he didn't go beyond 60 in my opinion, he would also suck if he sold out. Plus dying around 44 is pretty young actually compared to 80.
As for Kurt Cobain I agree what the first poster said, Nirvana would suck @$$ if Kurt didn't die. I can't imagine if Nirvana got less popular if it extended into the late 90s, that would certainly suck.

Being an addict doesn't make someone stupid, in his case it very clearly speaks to a deep discontent in his beautiful soul. He was the awesomeness!

Drug addiction doesn't add to the mystique nor should it diminish the character of the person's work in anyone's eyes. It's just another facet of coping and says nothing about the actual work. Although, it's strange, a lot of musicians who get clean start to suck when they're on the straight and narrow. Trent Reznor was very talented when he was a junkie, now that he's clean he's pretty fu-king lame. And fat.

If the Spanish didn't hate him so much, the Philippines would probably be an autonomous region of Spain or some $hit. His death encouraged the growth of the KKK movement and pretty much told Filipinos that the Spanish would never cooperate and that independence was the only option.

Oh, duh, Marilyn Monroe! She probably died at the right age, her career was about to go down the toilet and her looks weren't what they used to be. Plus, I wouldn't want to see her alive now, she could've easily turned into Elizabeth Taylor, a frazzled bridesmaid at Michael Jackson weddings.
