yupperz... lived in a neighbourhood with a large percentage of chinese jamaicans... although, youshouldn't really say chinese jamaican b/c it's more like chinese west indians. although the most chinese west indians are from jamaica, most of the rest are trini or guyanese...
you know who else is chinese west indian? KELIS... ahaha she's half jamaican, half chinese-puerto rican... so she kinda 1/4 chinese...
question: what kind of chinese are the majority of chinese-jamaicans?
are they like, hakka? or are they han, manchu, etc...
^omg n/m, i just read the thread and it answered my question... don't forget many hakkas were sent to mauritius.. most hakka ppl i know are from mauritius. (so they get friggin nice marks in french o_O)
and this is a long shot for this thread but:
what kind of chinese is fukien chinese?
--------
do chinese ppl say ni-hao mah?
yes, they do... or some of them, b/c that's the only phrase some were taught.
--------
do chinese ppl have the accent?
yes they do. and it ssounds cool coming from a chinese person

--------
do chinese-jamaicans have the same way of life as mainland chinese ppl?
not that i know of, but i'm not chinese-jamaican. all i know is, i haven't seen chinese-jamaicans speak hakka, only the hakkas from mauritius do, and they prefer to speak morisyen (french creole). my family lives in canada, we don't build our house with the crazy nice roofs n stuff... same thing
