tinman01,
You're 100% right. It would be crazy to sell the Raptor to any other country, even allies. Although, because I haven't kept up with this issue, I'm pleasantly surprised. Lockheed had been lobbying well before the Raptor was done for its sales to foreign allies--America is the world's biggest arms dealer. This is why I thought it would sell. The other reason is the the JSF F-35 Lightning is also a stealth fighter and it is actually a joint product of 35 countries including Japan. Raptor technology definitely must be kept under lock and key: Even well meaning friends can leak secrets via incompetence, i.e. spies amongst their midst.

I bet the Ruskies already have something way better and are willing to sell.
Don't bet on it. The Russians are great at aeronautics like in thrust-vectoring, but not avionics, i.e. computers, electronics.
However, they do that F-117 Nighthawk shot down from the balkan conflict.

Not to China though.
True.
