Indian girls are hot! I've even tried to hollar a few times at the Asian festivals where you guys come out and do your dances and cultural performances. I'm pretty sure your Indian culture is not different from any other Asian culture, especially the SE Asian culture, which is heavily influenced by Indians.

Everytime I try to say "hello" or "what's up", all I get is shrewd looks and mean mugs.

I heard there is a 20% marriage rate between Indian people and White people (pretty much equal for both males and females). Also, I have a friend that is going out w/ a Chinese chick.
I sorta agree that to some extent, Indian people don't interact w/ non-Indians as much as they should. Its kinda surprising that there isn't more marriages between Indian and other Asian groups, especially since they both are heavily overrepresented in post secondary institutions.

As an Indian woman I can explain. I myself have been in this kind of situation. When an Indian man passes by and I think he is attractive I subtly gesture but when a non-indian man likes me I feel scared and a little embarressed

I find Indian women to be extremely intimidating, actually. I have a much easier time approaching white and asian chicks than I do desis. Most Indian ppl are waaaaaaaaayy too social for me - I can't keep up in most instances.

In my case, I'm a SE Asian man, Hmong to be exact, and at most times I am confident, but sometimes I do feel intimidated. Especially when dealing with rich folk and "very" attractive people, or a combination of "rich and attractive." As for being intimidated by skin color or race? Yes, at times I am, but that's mainly with white and black folks. When it comes to Asians, (Filipino, Viet, Indians, Chinese, etc., etc., I'm mostlly very confident. Why? Because we all are in a way influenced by one another. The way we think is just about identical.

Most of my life, I've dated other Asians, except for Indian, and I've had a few white girl friends. I'm just curious to know what the Indian mindset is in regards to interracial dating and marriage. Thank you all for your time

It's better to approach an Indian girl in a non-Indian setting. At cultural events, Indians are careful about others gossiping so they may be hesitant to talk to you.

While there are Indians girls who do date East/SE Asian guys, they generally don't.


White guys are ranked at the top in terms of inter-racial dating among Indian girls, and black guys come next.......This all has to do with the media, colonialistic views towards beauty, etc.


As for me, I'm shy in general at first regardless if a person is Indian or not. But I open up once you get to know me, and can be dominant and upfront when I feel like it.

Why embarrassed?

The one time I felt extremely embarrassed and awkward was when a South American guy invited me to [a friendly] dinner at his place and immediately confesses his feelings for me once I got there. He said the moment he made eye connection with me, he just knew I was the one. Then he suggests that we should have a relationship. I remember complaining in the past that men need to be more aggressive but this was too much for me. He wasn't a scary guy or anything; he's just a romantic man who knew what he wanted.

Well from the stats about 30% of US raised Indians marry other ethnicities, so one could infer that the proportion of Indians dating other groups is significantly higher, Indian marriage customs being what they are. While we're exchanging personal anecdotes I admit I've hardly seen Indian (or other South Asian) girls with men of other races here in England, 2 with black guys (including my cousin who married one), and maybe a couple more with white guys. I've yet to see a yellow guy with an Indian girl, but don't be discouraged, I'm sure it happens!

Only reason white girls marry Indian guys is because Indian people are rich.

Look at the stats from the census you can ask for a PDF version from the US government, I did it for a paper in high school. And considering theres only 2 million Indians in America and like 37 million blacks, and that black people have been here for like 300 years of course theres more intermarriage by default.

And theres nothing special about marrying white women. Indian women are way better looking IMO, just look at Riya Sen or any Indian actress. I'm just saying its a big thing amongst Indian men.
