Foreign workers seating in trucks would whistle to girls when their truck drove by them.
They would whistle or " OI !" to catch your attention.

One of my recent encounter:
I was in my uniform and walking with my friends
who were very decent and suddenly a truck of foreign
workers was like " OI! ".
We turned back to see who did that and we found that it was the foreign workers.
They laughed when we turned around and look.

this is only one example.
i asked my friends if they had encounter with such situation,
they said " MANY TIMES ! "

Many of these foreign workers come from places where women are not conservative and they get "shocked" and "excited" looking at singaporean ladies with modern dressing ( i don't mean sexy or indecent dressing ) and also they miss their women back in their countries. This is what you have to bear with as long as the government keep importing these foreigners.

On another note, i know of girls who get irritated being whistled by foreign workers but get excited and happy being whistled by caucasian guys.

i never got cat-called in my school uniform, lost... so i don't know if it's a fetish thing. i just think men need to think about sex every 6 seconds, so whoever is passing by, whether its a student or aunty going to the wetmarket, they are just gonna let go and whistle anywayz....

it's not fetish. they are just doing that for a little harmless fun. they won't turn their whistling into anything physical. the best thing you could do is to ignore them ( don't even look at them ) when you are being whistled at.

by the way, as much as you hate being whistled at but at the same time, deep inside your heart, you'll feel bad if they don't do that to you. just imagine, you are walking with your friend and she got whistled and you are being totally ignored, i am sure you will ask yourself, " why don't they whistle at me ? , am i not attractive to them ?, is my friend prettier than me ? and you feel a little upset. i think these are the questions which a normal girl will ask herself in that kind of situation.
