I dunno if it's legal or what, but when I was there 2 months ago in a mall of what looks like a pile of bags of what looks like weed being sold. I was shocked, it might have been but then again there was no sign indicating what it was and the only sing was the saying of the price of P30.00. I dunno if the Philippines is like the Amsterdam of Asia or what but whatever it is it's heading there.

Weed is not legal in Amsterdam however you are permitted to have a certain amount in the coffee shops

I think it's illegal, but sometimes the police just don't care. I was in a park in Manila and there were crackheads walking around sniffing out of bags, or something, i cant remember, but there were cops around and they didn't seem to care. And there were always ppl on the sidewalks sniffing paint and stuff but no one seemed to care. I can't count how many times I was walking on the sidewalk and saw ppl laid out & stoned.

Read something on Wikipedia about the punishment on possessing weed in the Philippines:

QUOTE
The Philippines abolished the death penalty on June 24, 2006. The Philippines introduced stronger anti-drug laws, including the death penalty, in 2002. [7] Possession of over 500 grams of marijuana usually earned execution in the Philippines, as did possessing over ten grams of opium, morphine, heroin, ecstasy, or cocaine. Angeles City is often a mecca for Filipino cannabis users and cultivators, although enforcement has been inconsistent.[49].

Really, dang. So far all I've heard is that Angeles, Pampanga might have more weed than any other Filipino city.

Holding a certain amount of weed could land you the Death Penalty. true. Drug laws in the Philippines is very harsh.

Wrong, death penalty has been abolished as a result of the Spanish government's diplomatic pressure. As well as lots money in aid and 100,000 visas.
