Full Version: A polite message to all new users in Korean chat
Asia Finest Discussion Forum > Asian Culture > Korean Chat
Captain Corea
There have been a lot of new users lately in Korean chat. I used the italics for a reason, because it seems that the majority of them are coming from the same person (and similar IP).

This is just a heads up to any real new user coming to Korea Chat for the first time - Welcome! It's great to have you here! Please feel free to read up on past threads and join in on the new ones. However, before you start posting, it might best if you checkout the rules of the forum.

We've had a lot of trolls lately, so if some posters are hard on you because you're new, 1) take it with a grain of salt, and 2) check your posts to make sure you're not coming off as too rude.

Just a little heads-up to make your stay here in K-Chat a better one.

Only when you and people like you are here. All of the socks and trolls CC is talking about are the same as you: simple, weak, ignorant.

You do realize that youre fighting a losing battle. For example in order for you to troll on this board, you need to A. Find a way to change or create a new IP address. B. Create a new email account. C. Register a new AF account. D. confirm your accounts e-mail address. And E. Create a new trolling topic and rack up post counts. Doing all of this takes quite a bit of time(your time, not ours).

On the other hand, it only takes us 3 seconds to report your retard @$$ and get you banned. Create as many accounts as you want. Youre only wasting your own time, because theyre going to get banned anyways.

Good call. biggthumpup.gif The general atmosphere is an important thing. Even when there are constant trolls, if the regulars are civil and know how to make fun of trolls, we can still have pleasant discussions here.

hahaha, what a lovely summary of people! nice guy......

obviously he is a korean guy, who i believe i can describe as the following. a korean guy who had been brought up in korea, or atleast with strong korean values, but now lives abroad. i think korean is his first language, but its fading fast and english is becoming more dominating, although obviously concluded from his last post, isnt quite up to standards, i.e broken.. he misses korea and wishes he was there now, so is jealous of anyone taking ''his place'' in korea who isnt korean. he also seemingly hates anyone who had effectively taken anything away from korea in terms of a partner (namely female) or experiences any benefit of korea in terms of its culture, people or otherwise.

what a good psychological profile icon_wink.gif

im a bit of an oldie on this forum, but only just got back to being arsed to post...where is all my othergolden oldies? such as...KFAscott.....or Ks3rfgirl....? i feel alone

Another note to any new users of this forum;

The recent wave of trolls has somehow mophed into identity stealing and more. If you see anyone using your real life photos for such purposes, please contact the MODs and/or post in this forum.

There are a lot of good (real) people on here, but there are a few (very few) trying to disturb the rest - please don't be taken in by them.

wat u mean by trolls??? wat they do????
may u just think tht some one is troll just becouse of the differences in cultures...just becouse of missunderstanding....
SantaKlaws
^no, people here just don't think someone is a troll just because of cultural differences. It's just that everyone is on edge because of persistent harassments from some shameless trolls who keep coming back after they're banned, so it's easy to assume bad faith when some new users make an honest mistake.

get a few of those kinds of trolls in other forums I belong to. You have to wonder who has a life so empty that they get pleasure (?) out of writing contrary and antagonistic rubbish online. Still, good to see there are real attempts to spread the message that the best response is to not engage them, just report them.

It's obvious that Koreans are so insecure about China's growng power. Koreans used to laugh and look down at China for being "poor", but look at those desperate b!tches now..all scrambling to learn Chinese. They know their position as the slave to China's dominance throughout history hasn't changed.

Funny thing is how Koreans actually think they are in an above position. Look at how many Koreans are scrambling to learn Chinese...millions. However, what value do Chinese have to learning Korean? LOL..maybe to go make kimchi or beat one of a million Korean whores up in Harbin. Other than that, knowledge of Korean is completely useless.

well.. if it is true, why the koreans don't look down the other poor countries like some countries in Eastern Europe and SEA counties? Those countries are poorer than Korea but they show a full respect for their culture and their characteristics. confused.gif

I do admit that there are some Koreans who disrespect Chinese people but their reason for looking down chinese people is not the poverty of china but because of their rudeness. I know that Chinese people look down on Indians because Indians are 'poorer than china'.... and the degree of chinese people's disrespect toward Indians are far worse than the korean's disrespect towards Chinese people.

I've been talking to some of my Japanese friends and Thai friends about china. guess what they said? They think Chinese people are willing to overtake the world. This is a sarcastic joke. Now, Thailand is not the richest country in the world but my Thai friends still do make joke on china because they don't judge ppl or nation by wealth.

well.. I do respect china and I have many Chinese friends but what china is doing now (eg. Bulilding coal power stations every 3 days, taking up Tibet by force, Beating up local Korean people in Tibet-freedom-protest etc..) is definitely something... icon_confused.gif
