Sites with Malaysian songs? I'll look for them...I know some famous local pop songs, but is not sure which site have them.

barangay is the smallest local government unit in the Philippines and is very similar to a village. Municipalities and cities are composed of barangays.
Each barangay is headed by a barangay captain (punong barangay) who leads the barangay council (sangguniang barangay) composed of barangay councilors (kagawad). Every barangay also has a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) (Youth council), composed of the SK President or Chairman and SK Councilors, who direct the youth-oriented activities, such as basketball leagues, in the barangay.
Historically, the term barangay refers to a community of around 50 to 100 families. The word itself comes from the Malay balangay which means “boat.” This connection between community and boat supports theories on the history of the pre-colonial Philippines, that being, each original coastal “barangay” formed as a result of a single or a group of settlers arriving by boat from other places in Southeast Asia.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barangay

Javanese/Hindu influence for sure.
Anyways, I tried looking for Malaysian songs but could not really find any sites. I've heard a malaysian song and it had and Indian vibe. Heh not sure though, I probably got it confused with Burmese music.

I was watching the Travel channel earlier. That fast music flow goes with the way the Javanese dance motivates along with. Quite spectacular.

For you NitaKang, have a listen to the internet radio on this website:
Malay traditional songs: Radio Sejarah MelayuJust a taste of some of our music, you can also hear the gamelan, very Indonesian.
I attended a keroncong concert in KL while home on hols, and there was an Indonesian troupe from one of the Javanese kratons. Very well done, graceful and energetic in turns!

So what if Kazaa is illegal ? I mean, it's not like the police will arrest all individual users one by one.

Now who's gonna sing it then. Maybe Ratu Rock Ella and Papa Rock Ramli Sarip. So what if he's Singaporean?

I think there´s no need Ella or Ramli sarip to sing rock version of "Negaraku".. i think it is more energetic when played at school assembly... but it just a dream.. hehe..

Ramli Sarip orang Singapore lah. Unlike M Nasir he didn't convert his citizenship.
Yeah, would love to hear the rock version in school assemblies....once in a while. The current version is just fine. Anyway, my fav patriotic song is the one that goes: Sungguh gemilang negeriku.... yang ku puja oh tanairku.... etc blablabla... biar putih tulang jangan putih mata. Never fails to stir the patriotism in me.

The Tamil song was so funny! There's another Indian song that I like.. not sure if it's Tamil or Sikh. It goes Suraangaaniiiii, suranggaaanniii, suranggani etc.. and ends with va va va va va va va va va!! And the singers will flap their hands and all!!

It was always performed by the Indian guys at our school national day celebrations. One of the traditional songs.

My favourite Malay ballads would be;
"Belaian Jiwa" Innuendo
"Getaran Jiwa" by the late wonderful and respectable P Ramlee
"Kau Ilhamku" Man Bai
"Aku Cinta Padamu" Siti Nurhaliza
and one song from Nora but it's pretty old and I kind of forgot the song title.

but I believe it would be "Di Persimpangan Dilema"

a malaysian folks song...
Lagu tiga kupang
saku penuh padi
enam ekor burung
masuk dalam kuali
bila sudah masak
burung nyayi saja
tentu sedap makan
beri pada raja..
raja dalam rumah
buat kira-kira
suri dalam dapur
makan roti gula, hoi!
dayang tepi kolam
mahu jemur tepung
datang burung hitam
patuk batang hidung...hidung...
hidung...hidung...hidung
hidung..hidung.........(please continue until you feel bored)
i wonder who create this song.

And one of my friend always sing along in my car and dance gracefully when i played that song and its annoying but funny

i wonder what happen to her now..
Everytime I listened to this song it always remind me of happy time in Ipoh and the streets where i usually drive
