Hello friends, my name is Mithoon and I will introduce you to Northeast India as for many of you Indians it does not exists. First let me start off by familiarizing you with the History of Northeast India.

North-East India
is the easternmost region of India consisting of the contiguous Seven Sister States and the state of Sikkim. This region is officially recognized as a special category of states. The North East Council (NEC) was constituted in 1971 as the nodal agency for the economic and social development of the eight states, the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi)was incorporated on August 9, 1995 and the Ministry of Development of Northeastern Region (DONER) was set up in September 2001.

The Seven Sister States of North East India

Note: The state of Sikkim cannot be seen in the above Map as it is North-west of Southeast India.

Now let me introduce you to the beautiful North East India and it's beautiful people.

Arunachal Pradesh (Hindi: अरुणाचल प्रदेश Aruṇācal Pradesh) is the eastern most state on India's north-east frontier. Itanagar is the capital of the state. The state is administered by India, though China holds territorial claim over a large portion of the state. Arunachal Pradesh is next to the state of Assam to the south and Nagaland is to the south east. Myanmar also lies towards the eastern side of the state, Bhutan towards the west, while the Line of Actual Control separates it from China to the north.[citation needed]

Arunachal Pradesh means "land of the rising sun" ("pradesh" means "state" or "region") in reference to its position as the easternmost state of India. Arunachal Pradesh is claimed by the PRC as an integral part of its territory. The territory is included with South Tibet (Zangnan 藏南), as part of Ngari, Shannan and Nyingchi Prefectures by the Chinese authorities.[citation needed]

Most of the people living in Arunachal Pradesh are either of Tibetan or Thai-Burmese origin. Another 16% of the population are immigrants, including 30,000 Bangladeshi and Chakma expatriates, and immigrants from other parts of India, notably Assam and Nagaland.
