I thought white people started to become whiter to reflect the harmful rays from the sun during the time they migrated out of africa, Europe was still covered in Ice and the ice reflected much of the sun onto them. I saw something like this on national Geographic.

I think it had more to do with vitamin D absorption.

The far northern hemisphere (where Europe is) receives less sunlight (especially in winter), so people had to evolve lighter skin so they could get the most vitamin D out of what little sunlight they received.

And I've heard the reason why Inuits kept their brown skin is because their diets provide plenty of vitamin D. The fat of arctic creatures like seals and polar bears are chocked full of the vitamin.

^That can't be all true. Europeans consume the most Vitamin D (even though the statement that lactose intolerant people are the minority, the reality is that that lactose TOLLERANT people are the minority).

albinoism is a defect while light skin is adaptation. also the white lion is not albino too, it's just a variation that used to be a lot in the iceage when there was a lot of snow. but the others animals are albino(minus the tiger).

Anyway, plenty "white" people are very tannable, like most of the people in the Mediterranean area, they're not exactly pale. It's only in the Nordic/Baltic area there's substantial depigmentation.

which siberians? asians? if it's asians siberians some scientists have argurd that most siberians residents are recent immigrants to the area and most of there anceastors lived in warmer climate in earlier times. now if your talking about caucasianswith dark hair(russians) that is because blonde hair is an extreme and it has been seen to be only spread from what is the baltic area. although most all caucasians have a degree of hair depigmentation. for instance even dark haired euros have brown hair as contrast to black hair that asians and non caucasians(except australians) have.

have in mind that a albino does not have proper pigmentation but caucasians have all sorts of intermedate and exterme light features which indicates that they are not albino.

the exact reason for depigmented hair is unknown but it is clear that it is not albinoism. most likely it is due to enviorment and diet.

White people are Homo Sapiens like every other human. There is no genetic evidence at all to suggest they are related to Neanderthals. White people became white due to the last ice age (which was more concentrated in Europe), not because of any mixing with Neanderthals.

As for the native Siberians, their thicker hair and epicanthic folds (like most East Asians) makes it less likely for them to have light hair or light eyes.
