This was a movie by Oliver Stone, the third edition in his Vietnam trilogy, was a movie about a young Vietnamese girl in the mist of the Vietnam War. Unlike the previous movies in his trilogies, Heaven and Earth turns away from the American experience and depicted the life of Phung Thi Le Ly Hayslip, a villiage girl who was caught in between the struggle between North and South. I thought this was a very good movie because it told the story of the Vietnam war that many people don't know. Even though the movie was mostly in English, I thought it did an excellent job of protraying Vietnamese culture and values. It is such a great movie, I'm surprise that many Vietnamese people don't know about it.
Good movie. It moved far too quick towards the end. I like the monologue at the end by the brother, very well done... "like ants beneath the elephant's feet".
Hiep Thi Le is a babe!
