Ill be in Montreal for School this coming semester so it would be cool if some Montreal pinoys would tell me a little bit about the filipino community there. Especially the essentials like where can I get my bagoong (filipino stores) and where I can play some pick up basketball hehehe.

I'd say the Filipinos in Montreal are French speaking. Kind of odd seeing a Filipino speak French.

Good job, you guys have the best basketball team in Canada

Concordia is like the UCLA of the NCAA

Cool cool, i dont own a car yet though so we will be taking the bus and the metro. But who need cars anyway, here in Montreal you could live without them. Matanong ko lang, bat mo naman naisipan magaral dito?

Lol, Montréal or McGill? I've been to Montréal twice (BEAUTIFUL city), and I'm avoiding the types that want to go to mcGIll and become doctors.. shifty.gif My top 2 schols at this point are Carleton U and OCAD.

Thats cool man I heard that you guys have a really good transport system anyway. Gusto kase malayo sa Vancouver at saka mas malake ang art scene sa Eastcoast (Toronto, Montreal, Boston, New York Chicago etc.).

HAHAHa I get what you mean I know similar types of people that go to UBC here. I have a cousin who goes to school in Carlton but hes a economics major I think, he loves it there because its a party school. As for OCAD I heard that its pretty small like a college but they have an excellent design program.

hear ya man. really hate it here in SFU... i was talking to a white older woman in her 40s the other day and i told her the type of people i met in this university. she couldn't believe it. like it's not possible at all for vancouverites to be that horrible. embarassedlaugh.gif

I need a break from Vancouver I'm so sick of this place and I agree about the people here as well. What about SFU makes you hate it the most? and wasn't it the school with the highest suicide rate in Canada?

Lol, I want to go to Carleton because it's far from my family... icon_redface.gif I'd pobably end up picking OCAD if I get in though. More prestigious as far as the design pogram goes. Lol. And OCAD's student body is 10 times smaller than Carleton's, so I'd feel special. icon_redface.gif

If I don't get into either of the design programs I'll just apply at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design... Only design school in Canada where you can start in the January semester lol. Even smaller school... But it's not that well known so my mom is iffy about it.

EDIT: why is my R key not working half the time? argh!

LOL, all this talk about Montreal and university reminds me of my own university days (almost 15 years ago eek.gif). I went to school in New England in the U.S., and my friends and I would travel to Montreal on long weekends (otherwise NYC) to have fun (and buy Cuban cigars). Ah, the sweet memories.

I got into Eciad as well as Acad but I the focus on EC is more on design nowadays because of the design boom in Vancouver. It would be great for you actually and its located in a very nice touristy area. Its funny how many people in Vancouver think of Eciad as such a big deal when the school is pretty much unknown outside of BC lol.

yeah, that university is dead depressing. plus you always have to deal with stuck-up airheaded individuals who's got their heads way up in the clouds -- think they're all that. they also have this local celebrity (who's filipino, btw) that many students pick-on. poor guy, i never understood why he wouldn't transfer out given how much they hate him there. confused.gif
