AHMEDABAD, India, Aug 31 (Reuters) - Hindus and Muslims attacked each other in the Indian town of Godhra on Friday, police and government officials said, in the same town in which the deadly month-long Gujarat riots began in 2002.

Friday's violence started as a classroom squabble between Muslim and Hindu boys.

The children from both sides later complained to their parents, who then took the fight to the streets. Soon angry mobs were torching vehicles, throwing stones, looting shops, and beating each other up.

"This was enough for both the sides to come out on the streets and attack each other," said Milind Torawane, a local government official. "We are trying to bring the situation under control."

About 20 people have been taken to hospital with injuries, he said.

Wikipedia Article - Hinduvata

Hindutva ("Hinduness", a word coined by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in his 1923 pamphlet entitled Hindutva: Who is a Hindu? ) is used to describe movements advocating Hindu nationalism.

The former ruling party in India, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is closely associated with a group of organizations that promote Hindutva. They collectively refer to themselves as the "Sangh Parivar" or family of associations, and include the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

This right-wing ideology has existed since the early 20th century, forged by freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar popularly known as Veer Savarkar (Veer means brave), but came to prominence in Indian politics in the late 1980s, when two events attracted a large number of mainstream Hindus to the movement. The first of these events was the Rajiv Gandhi government's use of its large Parliamentary Majority to overturn a Supreme Court verdict that had angered many Muslims (see the Shah Bano case). The second was the dispute over the 16th century Mughal Babri Mosque in Ayodhya — built by Babur after his first major victory in India. According to Hindutva ideology, the Babri Mosque was built atop the ruins of a temple honoring the Hindu God-Emperor Rama. The conflict surrounding the Babri Mosque (referred to by Hindus as the Ramjanmabhoomi) has been compared to the Temple Mount disputes in Israel by Daniel Pipes [1]. The Supreme Court of India couldn't deliver a conclusive verdict on the case in the early 1990s due to a cited absence of evidence. Tempers soon flared, and Hindutva supporters razed the mosque in late 1992, setting off a wave of religious conflict that included the Bombay riots and the 1993 Mumbai bombings. The razing of the mosque and subsequent conflict arguably lifted the BJP and Hindutva to international prominence.

To make Muslims understand that terrorism can’t be tolerated lets do Gandhigiri against them in the following way:

i) Don’t give them jobs in your company if you have other Hindu person available for the job. Stop all public relations with them. Don’t speak to them unless absolutely necessary.

ii) If you are in partnership with Muslim then slowly by slowly scrap him of partnership or do business of your own or engage other partner which is Hindu or of other religion other than that of Muslim.

iii) Don’t buy any product from Muslims. If they come to purchase at your shop charge them one rupee more as our country is suffering more from some of their members indulging in terrorists attack indirectly by giving shelter to Pakistani Terrorists.

iv) from the beginning of your girl child make her understand that she could do any intercaste marriage other then Muslims.

v) The shepherd community of India should not sell their old cows & buffaloes to Muslims. Hindus should unite together & form some institutions to buy old cattle from shepherd community so that Muslims didn’t get meat to eat atleast from our side.

vi) Never wear any clothing ( shoes, belts, vollets etc etc) made from leadher.

If Muslims had taken path of terrorism then we must make them understand they we can also take actions in our own way….& i think this is the best practice

to show our feelings against them.

thx.
