What they say
Rizal is both Ibarra and Elias…. Rizal himself is the spirit of contradiction, a soul that dreads the revolution, although deep within himself he consummately desires it…. Rizal is a man who constantly pivots between fear and hope, between faith and despair. All these contradictions are merged together in that love, his dreamlike and poetic love for his adored country, the beloved region of the sun, pearl of the Orient, his lost Eden.
--MIGUEL DE UNAMUNO, “Rizal: The Tagalog Hamlet”*
The only justification for national self-government is the restoration of the dignity of the people. And this dignity will continue to elude us as long as abject poverty, rampant corruption, oligarchs, and landlords remain stark realities of our society. These evils will not be defeated until we liberate ourselves from the chains of mental incarceration. Only upon such release can we recover our own virtues and be, in the words of Rizal, “once more free, like the bird that leaves the cage, like the flower that opens to the air.
--ANWAR IBRAHIM, former deputy prime minister of Malaysia**

Professor Rudolf Virchows Obituary
for Dr. Jos Rizal in 1897
We are losing in Rizal not only a faithful friend of Germany and German scholarship but also the only man with sufficient knowledge and resolution to open a way for modern thought into that far-off island world.

No offense, but you didn't offer too much....other than, "let's talk about jose rizal."
Seems like a wasted thread to me if you're just expecting people to do the dance for you.
edit: my bad, I see your posts further down.....

SA AKING KABABATA
by jose rizal
Kapagka ang baya'y sadyang umiibig
sa kanyang salitang kaloob ng langit
sanlang kalayaa'y nasa ring masapit
katulad ng ibong nasa himpapawid.
***
Ang hindi magmahal sa kanyang salita
mahigit sa hayop at malansang isda
kaya ang marapat, pagyamaning kusa
na tulad ng isang tunay na nagpala.
***
Ang wikang Tagalog tulad din sa Latin
sa Ingles, Kastila, at salitang anghel
sapagka't ang Poong maalam tumingin
ang Siyang naggawad, nagbigay sa atin.
he wrote it when he was 8 years old
amazing right.

That's obviously false. Hitler's appearance doesn't look anywhere Filipino
