Has anyone noticed Chinese people are not as united as other races ( example : Caucasian, Vietnamese, Korean etc) ?

I always wondered why the Chinese people are not united.
Even if you are talking about our history , we have been at war with almost no one but ourselves. Is it true that we are just selfish and brave to stand up against our own kind but not to others. I have seen Chinese people fight each other more then we fight anyone else even if you watch young and dangerous or any of the movies they just like to beat each other up.

I envy the top 3 most united race on earth :

1. Jews
2. White People
3. Japanese


A Portugese friend once told me that it is part of the Jewish faith (religion) to look after for each other. No wonder the Jewish people are so successful.

The Vietnamese race being united is not completely true. In Vietnam, yes, they are quite united due to government propaganda. Viet overseas? No, b/c some 30 years ago Americans butt in and tore us apart. Now there is a VNCH vs VC stigma. For awhile many VNCH felt it's Viet Congs fault for Vietnam being poor, while ignoring the fact that America was there bombing the $hit out of Vietnam for 16 years. Now Vietnam is rising and all they can complain about is human related issues. However, the younger generation Vietnamese usually do not share such mentality as the older generation. We understand America's responsibility in Vietnam was not entirely "humane." Regardless, many Vietnamese (both old and young generation) are returning to Vietnam to invest and help as much as they can.

Also, the Koreans being united is not completely true either. I wouldn't say South and North Koreans are the best of friends. Once again, who is to blame? *cough*America*cough*

I think the Korean situation would be the same as the Vietnamese if N. Korea had won the war. There would be a huge immigration wave of S. Koreans to USA with anti-North Korean stigma. So, I think Vietnamese situation right now is quite understandable, though it applies mostly to older generation Vietnamese.

I use to think the same but not anymore.
There is no other civilization as old and as huge as us; if there is, maybe then even the Jew will be worse than us.

Compare to our next door neighbor>> India, we are way better; don't you agree?


Yes we have still many difficulties to solve, but I think many other races out there wish they are in the Chinese big circle. Search deeper and you will find many half Chinese are now really proud of their Chinese blood, which were never the case ten years ago.

Sad to say unity is the low point among Chinese. Chinese are more concern about $$ than anything else. Greedy, maybe too greedy, Chinese rip off/cheat other chinese for $$. You got money, you're the man, no money f_ck off man, sad to say it's one of the Chinese culture.

taiwan is the key to china future, as far as unification.

i support taiwan and china unification because of many similarity in culture, ancestor trait, and future political concern.

who care if they have different governmental system, as long as they are both han descendant, they need to be united.

if taiwan establishes official independent, they will become a foreign ally and betray their mother country, china. thats why china should keeps taiwan as their colonial state to avoid taiwan from moving further away from china.

and if taiwan wants independent, thats fine too but taiwan and china need a friendship diplomacy that they will fight side by side till the end.

a mutual relationship such as british and united state, is a good example.

Taiwan is totally China anway from their majority ppl to languages and much more, but do Taiwanese wants to unite with China?, may be if China is democratic nation, as long as China remain Commi, Taiwan will not unite with China. At least Japan & USA will try stop Taiwan becoming China.

Taiwan will likely go independent if US accept it, but does China will accept this? I don't think so.

yea there are native taiwanese but they are outnumbered by han descendant by 10 to 1.

over 90% of taiwanese population are han chinese, with a sub ethic group belong to original taiwan native anyway.

thats why we should put political differences aside, and focus on better future for both.

Chinese/Han have always been realists, they always look to the material before the ideological-hence the emphasis on food in Chinese society and the almost fanatical psychological connotations of getting enough to eat.

Religion as an abstract "glue" of sorts will never work with realists-which about 95% of the Chinese population are.

im a chinese and based on my experiences in hong kong,mainland,and some overseas australian chinese communities.I came to the conclusion that we chinese is indeed one of the most dis-unified ethnicity on Earth.
First off,Taiwanese hates mainland chinese,they hate the idea of reunification(i dont give a $hit) and always critisize mainland chinese,some of them also dislike southern chinese and most love japanese.
Mainland chinese who is able to go overseas from my observation are always sticking to their own mainland chinese social groups,note its mainland chinese,that means no cantonese,sometimes some taiwanese can be found.
Southern chinese or cantonese speaker dislike mainland chinese with a passion and are always the ones putting them down,imo,cantonese are one of the rudest group of people based on my observation on overseas students.always spitting or hurling insults,thogh im not sure if its part of their culture.
