Oh well.

Well I like Italian food so....

However Rome and much of Italy has bad pollution.
RobotChicken
so anyway, a bad state... what about idaho?
iMumble
Idaho, I'd live there nonetheless. Very quiet. Utah also.
Graham_Cracker07
^ God, as a non-Mormon, i'd never live in Utah. It's not that Mormons aren't nice ppl, but I would feel so isolated. Mormonism runs every aspect of their lives.
iMumble
I'd live in Utah because I love the tranquility of the state, and Mormons are like one of the least racist types of people I've heard of.
Graham_Cracker07
^ Maybe now they are, but they used to have church doctrine that said that black ppl were cursed. They changed that whenever it became politically incorrect to be racist.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blacks_and_Th...tter-day_Saints

But nowadays I think Mormons are generally good people. I would love to have some Mormon neighbors, but I wouldnt wanna live in a community that was majority Mormon because I would feel too left out.
RobotChicken
i'd live in idaho because napoleon dynamite lives there
RobotChicken
how about... montana?

Lived in WA state for 7 years and a few months in oregon.. Had no problems. I'm now living in Houston and have been for the last 9 years and rarely do I come across any racism. I dunno... I'm not fat but I know for sure I'm not skinny like most asians and I think that's why I never really had any problems growing up with white people. I just didn't look easy to pick on I think... I mean growing up around 100% white people help me adapt but I just think most asians look weak and that's why they get picked on.

Wyoming, hands down is the worst place on earth for ANY minority to live.

They lynched their only black guy.
They lynched their only gay guy.
They lynched their only lesbian.

I worked there for 4 months, right after high school and they treated me like $hit, my own supervisor used to call me bugaboo. Wyoming has a population of like maybe 2,000 people.... in the entire state (i'm exaggerating a bit) and they're all white with absolutely no knowledge of the outside world.

I've heard that within the past five years though, they've had a huge influx of Black and Mexican workers pouring in to fill jobs in the oil fields, so they might be less ignorant to minorities, but I'm sure the towns that don't have oil drillers are still racist.
eaglerock
I guess anywhere there are a lot of rednecks. They don't discriminate only minorities, they also discriminate people with a full set of teeth.

I cant think of any state that would be bad for Asians. Seriously, most ppl in the US dont hate or discriminate against Asians because Asians usually just mind their business and dont have problems w/ their neighbors. But there are some places in the US, that are traditionally though of as being Asian-friendly that aren't so Asian-friendly IMO. Like California (especially LA) there seems to be a lot of racial problems there involving Asians. From Korean grocery stores in LA to conflicts b/t Cambodians & Mexicans in Long Beach. Ppl in NYC also seem to have problems w/ Korean grocery store owners. I dunno if all that stuff is in the past now, but I know it used to be a big problem.

Screw L.A. and NYC. People tend to think NYC is great because it's cosmopolitan. It's actually a $hit hole to live in if you're an Asian. It's okay to live in NYC for couple of years, say for college or for a temporary job with one of the Morgan Stanleys over there. But hell no would I want to live in NYC. Plus it's very expensive living there. This is why a lot of my friends tend to live in New Jersey and commute for crazy hours to NYC every weekdays. I think living in new Jersey is a lot better than living in New York.

L.A., ewwww. So much materialistic people. And the people in general of L.A. are jerks who are ready to rip you off. They also tend to be unethical and unprofessional. Lawsuits are very common in L.A. and so are boob jobs and plastic surgery. I never want to live in that shallow-materialistic poop hole. L.A. may have good weather, and may look good on the outside, but in reality, L.A. has the worst traffic, highest gang murder rate in the nation, plenty of mexican immigrants who can't speak English, all about politicallyl correctness, red tape/beauracracy, and yes, it seems that Asians in general in the L.A. area are bottom b!tches waaaayyyy below blacks and the hispanics.

I hate how ppl just assume the South is a bad place for Asians. I've lived in TN my whole life. It's not like Asians are gettin lynched around here. It's more about whites hating blacks & vice versa. Everyone is pretty much cool w/ the Asians. In my town most of the Asians are Filipinos and we've always been a big part of the community. There are at least 10 Filipino owned bussinesses, including a Filipino restaurant. You can ask anyone if they know any Filipinos and most will say yes. I think my town is a great place to be Asian, specifically Filipinos. And i've been down to Mississippi because it's close to here. I didn't feel any racism. Most ppl down there are really friendly. Southern ppl in general are friendly. On the other hand, when I went up to NY. Ppl were assholes. It wasn't racism though because they were assholes to everyone regardless of race.

I have not been down to the south. But I have visited a relative in New Orleans last year in December, and boy was I surprised at how hospitable the southerners are! I've only lived in California and been to NYC area. I never knew how rude and unfriendly people in L.A. were until I left California. I hate L.A. and I'm not even going to return to SoCal.

Anyhow, I hope what you say is the truth about Tennessee. I heard that there are white supremacy groups in Tennessee area. But at the same time, I'm studying up here in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and have this cool white dude in one of my study group. He's from Tennessee and he's a very chill guy and talks to me a lot.

I also do know that there's a decent sized Vietnamese community in Tennessee.

I would definitely like to live in Texas, Oregon or Washington State-Seattle. I don't like the East Coast, because the Asians there tend to be very white-washed. I hate California, as people tend to be segregated, too expensive, too many people, long lines, traffic problems, rude, cocky, arrogant, racist, you name it. Bay Area is a lot better than living in L.A. But the Bay Area is slowly becoming another L.A. with a bunch of superficial numbskulls moving up to live in South Bay side.

TN and TX aren't that bad for Asians. I have "family" in Nashville and Houston and they couldn't complain about life over there... but they have money, and money tends to solve a lot of things.

Boston, Chicago, NYC, and their outlying areas are still the best place for anyone who is middle-class or above to kick it.

I think it's Wyoming too. Other than its very small population, it only has Yellow Stone. Not to take anything away from the national park, it's just that you can do much with it (besides partying with Old Faithful), and its neighboring states aren't that special either.

Why do you complain about all these places being "redneck", "racist", you automatically judge all of our states like we're all crazies or something. Maybe we should do a "What is the worst Asian country to be in"? Everybody hates white people in most Asian countries, that's something that's racist. Alot of people don't trust asian people in the states, because of a)japan attacking us b)vietnam war... Alot of people just don't trust Asians, they probably think your all a bunch of "chineses" and all eat dogs, or they think your all the same race. That's not a very good accusation to make now is it, just because people like to live in rural places and appreciate natural beauty dosen't make them a "redneck", just because somebody has an accent or chooses to live a traditional lifestyle. The only place Asians that have that attitude will feel comfortable is where they came from. If you think everybody is going to jump on you and nobody will make fun of you, think again. That goes for every race, I deal with crazy black people all the time, who hate white people and mexicans. You think only "rednecks" will make fun of you, your wrong, mexicans will take a jab at you, blacks, cubans, and every other race in this country. This is a racist country, whenever somebody gets mad, they throw up the race card and it causes a chain reaction. This is a country with 40 countries living inside of it, divided. If you don't wanna be made fun of, go to canada, they'll let you take everything from them. Take over the cities, make Asian enclaves, Canadians are really ignorant to worldly matters, so exploit them, Vancouver is all Chinese. But you try that in America and $hit dosen't fly. But to be helpful to those who want to know where a good place for Asians to live, I'd say the same places where everybody else lives. What do Asians have to all live together, I knew the US ideas would never work, because USA was set up for people to all assimilate into one, instead it's just like 40 countries all seperated.. If you wanna live by Asians, typical:

Hmong in Minnesota/Arkansas
Vietnamese in Louisiana/Texas
Chinese in Seattle/Cali
Japanese in LA/New York/ Hawaii
Basically ALL in California, It'll be nice when Asians decide to move in with the rest of us, I hate having to drive so far when I'm in the states to date Asian girls.. meh.. such a pain in the @$$..

I dunno, but I believe it could be U.S. Northwest, since it's usually filled with white people and they all probably have lived their lives never seeing anyone who is black, asian, or hispanic. Yet I also probably might think it could be Southern states, since it's filled with rednecks and racial gangsters. What do you think?

I'm pretty sure they've seen black folks, maybe not Asians, but blacks ofcourse.

Wow interesting. Well Seattle & Portland may be the only exceptions but otuside of it it's all horrible, I'm talking about more than just Washington and Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. Mainly the reason why I've picked the Pacific NW is because some new report I saw on TV years ago showed that 60% of whites in rural Idaho, Montana, and Oregon have never seen a black, Asian, or Hispanic person in their lives, and they even said they would be less inclined to hang out with them.

As for the North-Midwest, I still say it's pretty good for Asians or other minorites to live in. I mean most of my white friends in school have at least lived in the Midwest for one time in their life or whatever, and trust me they behave more better than many Texan-born students that we have. They even are more tolerant of other cultures, while the Texan-born people that I know just say jokes that involve other people's accents and stuff.

But yet the South, is still horrible, because that's where all the redneck culture has it's stronghold.

You obviously haven't been to Washington State. Washington has lots of Asians. Not just Seattle. Bellvue, Tacoma, Everette you'll see Asians everywhere.

Actually, the so-called "Pacific Northwest" is the hotbed of liberalism. White liberals may be a confused lot, but they are generally open-minded people -- unlike the deep-south, neo-conservative, Republican whites who are too often just plain bigots and just can't stop making excuses for their racism. I have lived in the South, so I can say without a doubt that those people are bigots, but they would never admit it, and they love to make excuses for racism.
filipinoy
its hawaii, other asians are the number 1 enemy of asians lol

idk, alabama, S/N dakota, maine?

but then most NE & NW folks arent that evil

so i guess its shweeeet home alabama
PaxAsiaticus

Not too sure about a state per se but I would have to go with what some have said here and say that the worst city is by far is NYC. Though LA is coming close behind.

The south isn't really that bad at all though. I've visited Virginia a number of times and I have wonderful friends from there.

The best states that I personally had some of the most wonderful experiences IMO is tied between both New England (Maine, Vermont, the beaches in the NE, of course Boston are all great, the local food etc) and Colorado especially Denver. As a sidenote Go the Nuggets! biggrin.gif

LA if full of asians. im guessin Alabama and Kentuccy.
