Neither of those 3 religions belong in China. That's including Buddhism, which rightfully belongs in India.
I do believe that there is a God out there watching over us; but it is definately not the God of Christianity, Islam, or Buddha. I've been through this before, on some other thread.
You see, when we worship other people's Gods we are literally giving up our souls.

Well Zhang, this is comming from a non-religious person but the Chinese people never really had their own god, most Chinese religion such as Daoism and Confucianism were largely non-theistic. Major Chinese religions were based more on philosophy, logic and thought rather than dogma, divinity or theism.

I used to be an atheist, but there has just been certain events in my life that has changed my views on the matter at hand. I've always rejected the notion that we as human beings have been created by "accident" or the whole notion that the reason for our very existence is nothing more than a coincidence.
I'm not sure if the "God" I was referring to was a deity. Maybe it's some supernatural forces which guides through life, or maybe it's the spirit of our ancestors which guides us.

Roman Catholic.
My parents were born in the Philippines so that's the religion they inherited.
If I were to estimate, I'd say:
Mom's side: 80% Roman Catholic, 15% Buddhist, 5% Bukás Loób sa Diyós (

)
Dad's side: 40% Agnostic, 30% Protestant, 15% Roman Catholic, 10% Buddhist, 5% Iglesiya ni Cristo
I was baptized in Manila.
We participate in a lot of novenas and fiestas and stuff... Santo Niño, Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Black Nazarene etc etc etc. Great place to meet new people. Half of my mom's 'barkada' is from one of those feast days... :/ We apply Catholicism in a very lax kind of way. Most of the bible is pure BS in my opinion, but there are a lot of good life lessons in there. Hahaha. And the Song of Songs is so romantic. If I ever need inspiration for a really romantic poem, that's where it'll come from. looool. IMO if you can live a moral lifestyle without the guidance of religion, then there's no need for it. My dad never goes to church and I no longer see the point either. But I also don't see the point in not going to church if you think that going there might benefit you.

dont generalize to chinese christians not being able to speak chinese, some chinese people that i know that are aetheist + buddhist can't speak chinese either. not being able to speak chinese has nothing to do with religion, but the environment/culture you were brought up in.

Buddhism actually doesn't have a specific place to belong to. Siddharata Guatam was born in Lumbini (which is now in Nepal), preached in Benares (which is now in India) and had disciples from Lhasa (which is in China by way of Tibet).
China's has a direct connection to Buddhism through Tibet, which has one of the oldest Buddhist orders in the world.

Well there's so many things that I have encountered and so many things that I've learned and so many things that I've experienced.
I just don't know what to believe in anymore. Lies becomes truth and truth becomes lies.
What I once thought that was black and white now its white and black.
Somehow I believe that there is something missing, there is a hidden truth in all religions that I've encountered and so there are lies within to fit with that religions purposes.
Right now I just do what I had to do and keep going.
Believe in myself that I am capable that I am strong.
Even if there is a god or there isn't one.
That's the only thing that is keeping me alive.

Many chinese people think they are Buddhist. That is so wrong!! buddhist is the major eastern religion but not in china.
many chinese believe in god and ghost. they also do the traditional ceremony in certain holidays but actually that is not buddhist. That just an obeisance to their ancestors and some other stuff.
Many people just confuse it with buddhist, even chinese people. the majority of chinese are atheist but they still do the ceremony.

Yes, Buddhism is one of the leading religions of the East, mostly as Buddha travelled far and wide during his life and the Buddhists monks continued to travel across Asia preaching. There are Chinese muslims too (I think there was a thread), but they are quite rare, whilst the influence of the Western world has meant that Christianity has gotten (and probably still is getting) numerous converts.

Ah yes, ancestrial worship. I know ancestry is a huge and possibly one of the most important aspect of Chinese spirituality but do many Chinese people in today's world still hold their ancestors to the same regard as they did back in the Bronze age?
