First thing is you should learn how to speak Bol-anon! Then from there you can ask the Bol-anons how to reach Chocolate Hills, Boholanos are very friendly, gentle and hospitable people. I know because I used to go to Tagbilaran City every weekends when I was stilll studying in UP Cebu.

Oh sorry I forgot to tell you. There are several Bol-anon accents in Bohol itself! The accent in Tagbilaran and the accent in Jagna and some parts of Bohol are quite different!

The tarsiers? Nah I don't think so... haven't seen one shoot his head off.

But they can be fiercely loyal to their kins. A story told to me by my father was this creatures will carry their dead babies until it's bones.

Bring some "calamay" for me when you get there in Bohol, okay?

Hehe I oodled in joy when i read "bohol" in the topic, as a bol-anon myself here are some tips for you~
**note I dont live here but i was born here and just came back from vacation at bohol**

If youre arriving from Manila, will you be staying in a hotel?

To get to chocolate hills, you can ride a van that you usually hire for that whole day. I like chocolate hills and its always marvelous to look at.

As for the river cruise, that is in Loboc. What you can do if you choose to visit there is go to Loboc, eat and enjoy the cruise, then on the way back stop by Baclayon church (oldest philippine stone church).

If you want to go to the beach, I suggest Alona in Panglao.
Shopping centers are Island City Mall, and Bohol Quality (there are some others but those two are the best).
If you plan to take the tricyles from anywhere in the city, it is usually 6 pesos a person, except when you go to Island City mall (its a little farther).

hope you have fun, Bohol is such a wonderful place!

It depends on the season. But in september it would rain for a short while then go away.
Hope you enjoy Bohol as I surely did.

Yes, the beaches are terrific. Everyone knows about the Chocolate Hills, but the beaches on Bohol are excellent and not overcrowded, unlike Bora and Puerta Galera (Sabang Beach). I've been to beaches all over the Pinas (on Bora and all of the neighboring islands, Romblon, Puerta Galera, all over Panay, Negros, Pangasinan, Tali/Batangas, Cebu, Zamboanga, and Palawan), but I'd really like to go to Bohol soon. I'm happy that you enjoyed your trip.

BTW, I didn't catch your original message, so I missed an opportunity to mention the historic hacienda house Casa Rocha-Suárez, if you are into history. The Rocha family (ancestral relatives of the same family that resided in Intramuros, Manila and built Malacañang Palace in the 1700s) has owned an hacienda on Bohol since the late 1600s/early 1700s. They had a couple of old houses on Bohol, and this one was restored not too long ago (it's a now heritage center):

melee thanks for the tips... we went to BQ and Island City mall.
i was like thinking where is bohol quality mall coz i told my friends, melee suggested we go there...so, BQ is short for bohol quality....
yes, these were the coolest malls in the island.
BQ is like robinsons galleria while island city mall is like SM in structure... at least that's how i perceived it when i first walked inside....

again thanks!
