I saw a documentary about Singapore, and I wanted to know is it a big cultural melting pot, like the US?
How many different ethnic groups are there in Singapore?

what film was taht???
SG has been described as a salad. We are altogether in a salad bowl, but each ethnic group remains distinct from one another in terms of their cultural identity... like the lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes in the salad are distinct, but they are all held together by the same salad dressing. In the case of SG, all ethnic groups are held together by the salad dressing called PAP.

Singapore is more like a barbeque: different meats slathered in the same sauce.

So some meats are raw, some half-cooked and some well-done?? Which do u prefer to be?
What sauce would it be? Sambal belachan??

Actually, Singapore is more like salsa:
Tomatoes, onions, chilies, and cilantro forcefully pulsed together by a totalitarian blender.

NO, WAIT, Singapore is like a vinaigrette.
The oil and vinegar sure as hell don't want to mix with each other, but they're forced into it by the emulsifying properties of mustard.
