California is the best state for Asians to live in. Cali has the highest population and concentration of Asians anywhere in the U.S. Where Im from, all the Asian went to war and back with Blacks, Hispanics, and Whites, and they all know wassup! We made them respect us. The Asians here are down and crazy as fucc, and we are always strapped. No one fuccs with us here. Much love to all my down @$$ Southeast Asians. The Cambodians, Laotians, and Vietnamese that put it down for the Asians. We down as fucc!!! You fucc with us and you're dead buddy.

I luv Cali.
Rickdaddy
wtf are you talking about? most of the asians here, who tune cars, want to get the fu-k out of Cali due to smog purposes.
PB.
I actually think East coast is best place for Asian to live. And maybe a few arear in the South.
JakeCutter
Well, it looks like Mexicans are going to take over California soon. You'll all have to learn Spanish and get used to seeing the flag of Amexica.

fu-k Cali. I used to live in SoCal and NorCal, in South Pasadena, and in O.C. Garden Grove, and in NorCal, Sacramento, San Jose, Santa Rosa and San Mateo. Yes, Asians are high in percentage, but there is STILL racism in Cali against Asians. If I were to decide between Nor Cal or So Cal, I'd definitely choose Nor Cal as it seems to be more Asian-friendly than L.A. L.A. is more friendly towards hispanics and blacks. In NorCal, you have a lot of Chinese, Filipinos and Koreans living there. Plus a smatter of Japanese-Americans too.

The best state for Asians is either Hawaii where 78% of the population are Asian-American "loco" people, or Washington State, some parts of Texas, Boston, Mass, NY (upstate) and Maryland/Virginia.
NaziHunter
Best state for asians is probably Hawaii. At least one of the best. Thought the asian pop isn't 78%. asians, including part-asians are about 60 something %. about 20-25% of the pop is mixed, I think we have the highest mixed pop is the US. That's if you don't count hispanics as mixed. I'd consider moving to Norcal but the traffic is horrendous. maybe one day though.

Hehe, come to Deep East Oakland, West Oakland, Richmond, and in SF: Bayview-Hunters Point, Visitacion Valley, the Western Addition, the Mission, and see how much respect you get being Asian. Believe it or not, even the so-called "liberal" whites of SF seem to have some hatred towards Asians, Chinese in particular. I also see a fair share of wiggers here in SF.

And I also believe you missed out on the Asian-parts of LA, like the 1.7 million people of SGV, for one. There are tons of Japanese in Torrance and, to a lesser extent, Gardena. Koreans in Cerritos and LA Koreatown (though there's lots of Hispanics there too). Chinese and Vietnamese in the SGV and LA Chinatown. To be sure, there's more Koreans and Japanese in SoCal than in NorCal in terms of raw numbers. There's actually more Chinese in LA than in SF + SJ/Silicon Valley combined, contrary to popular belief (in raw numbers of course) though in terms of percentage, of course SF and SJ-Silicon Valley is higher since LA has lots of Hispanics and SF and SJ-Silicon Valley are small compared to LA. Then there's the Cambodians in Long Beach, and Long Beach actually has the largest concentration of Cambodians outside of Cambodia, with Lowell in Mass. being 2nd.

BTW, San Mateo is mostly whites and some Hispanics; county-wise, there's Millbrae with a small concentration of Chinese but that's about the most Asian you'll get. Santa Rosa? Whites, old whites at that. San Jose definitely got alot of Asians, along with its suburbs of the Silicon Valley. Sacramento? Whites and Hispanics....

But, of course, you'd get the same type of BS racism in LA if you went to white-West, Hispanic-East and, Black-Hispanic South Central.

Definitely Hawaii, Honolulu in particular; Cali does suck compared to Hawaii. On the other hand, with the exception of NYC (certain parts too), and Seattle, WA, the rest aren't even worth mentioning compared to Cali......enuff said......

Last time I was in the Bay area stuck in traffic i was wishing i had a gun . . . . . . . . . to use on myself, lol. And I though Honolulu traffic was bad (yea its bad here but fortunately short distances to travel). I don't want to even imagine LA, last time I went was college time but didn't have to drive. I won't move to LA since being road rage prone I don't want to get shot.

LOL..which part of the Bay BTW? SF definitely got the worst traffic, since it was historically the largest city in the Bay so it has lots of tourists...

Honolulu traffic is tame compared to the traffic in the Bay. But the bad thing is that I can't speed when driving in Honolulu cuz the speed limits are too damn low....I mean I seen speed limits on highways as low as 30's-40's IIRC...... and there are always cops there trying to give people tickets...... but maybe it was just Waikiki - can't generalize all of Hawaii of course.

Regarding LA.....I guess just don't go into road rage while driving Southbound on the 110 Harbor Freeway..LOL

Regarding the Bay.......there were actually some incidents in the past, like several years ago, IIRC, when some dudes got shot at on the freeway...in SF, there was one on the 280 Northbound near Downtown (heavy traffic there BTW)...

I mean, it's basically the same everywhere as I see it.......just don't drive recklessly and tick every person off, there's those rare times you get unlucky of course...

Crap, I was finished with my reply and then my connection got lost so I'm having to type this all over again. Went to SF, don't think I've ever had the pleasure of going to Oakland except maybe to pass through. Maybe cuz there's nothing i'd want to see in Oakland except maybe an A's game. When we were driving between SF and Sacramento traffic was insane, couldn't believe it. I thought once out of the city it would be smooth sailing. Do alot of folks live in Davis and other cities on the way to Sacramento and then commute to SF?

Agree that Honolulu traffic is tame compared to bay traffic. also people are nicer, they let you merge, less honking etc. Sometimes i think people are too nice drivers here (like if someone is blocking traffic no one even honks at them, except me, lol) yes speed limits are too low. You aren't generalizing, I've gotten tickets / pulled over going 40 in a 25 (it was a straightaway with minimal traffic), 60 in a 50 etc. and not like I'm driving recklessly or something. But yea it's worse in Waikiki, cops everywhere for the tourists. BTW if you get a traffic ticket in Hawaii (or any other state) and aren't expecting to ever come back save your money and don't pay your ticket. Heard from a well travelled "source" that Florida is the only state that actively goes after out of state traffic fines. But if your on the cautious side just pay it so you can sleep easy.

There's been road rage cases here too, only remember one shooting a few years ago (no one got hurt) and several other attacks but I'm sure it's no where as bad as Cali.

If i ever go back to SoCal and need to drive i"ll be on my best behaviour, lol. BTW what does "IIRC" mean. sorry for my ignorance.

LOL, Oakland's not too bad, but I do agree that, from the tourist's point of view, SF has much more to see than Oakland. But the saying that Oakland exists to make SF look good is not true and BS too......SF got its ghettos too and not all of Oakland is ghetto...

I'm not too sure on this but I do know that SF is the 3rd most visited place in the US, after LA and NYC. I don't know alot of people from Davis/Sacramento...

Definitely agree. Could not tell you how many times I almost got into a fight with terrible drivers. So many people want to go fast here, especially during like 12 noon and 2 in the afternoon at City college, I see people speeding like crazy wanting to get out of school as fast as they can like Godzilla's out to get them or something...LOL

Not only drivers, but the people in Honolulu in general are nicer than the ones here in the Bay, and Cali in general. There's never a shortage of assholes in Cali.

Oh yeah, Hawaii's traffic is nothing compared to L.A. and even the Bay Area traffic. I used to attend college in L.A. and it would take me an hour to get from the Santa Monica side of town to downtown L.A., where my apartment was located. The thing I really hated about L.A. was not the traffic and smog, but the fact that people are fake, are jerks, think they're better than you, drive BMWs and Mercedes when they're dirt poor, like to give you the run-arounds, etc. That's the reason why I moved back to Seattle after graduating from college.

So getting back to Hawaii's traffic and traffic laws, I think Hawaii is such a police-run state. There are always police officers on motorcycles trying to catch speeders with their radar gun. A nasty area on Oahu where cops love to nab people (esp tourists) is the Pali Highway town bound lanes as you head down the hill. I got caught there once.

Oh, and speaking about my experience of getting pulled over in Hawaii, I think the police officers in Hawaii are more "gentle" and nice compared to California police officers. I once got pulled over by CHP in L.A. and that guy had an attitude problem with me. He told me to pull over to the far right side of the freeway, because at first, I pulled over to the far left side of the freeway. I mean come on, even here in Indiana, I see highway officers pull over cars on the far left side of the freeway, even if it's near the "fast lanes."

Cali and NYC has some of the nastiest road rage statistics in the nation. I remember watching the local news in L.A. and there would be at least four road rage-related incidents every week. And this is not just the simple people shouting f-words to one another. They pull out guns and try to blow your head off. Ew. This is why I hate living in Cali.

Besides Hawaii, a good place to live for an Asian is Seattle, Washington. My friend who's from Hawaii has a lot of his family who relocated to Seattle.

That's cuz you're white-washed and have been born and raised in the ugly midwest. I don't know about you bud, but I really hate living in Indiana. There are too many "registered KKK" organizations here. I'm pretty sure it's the same in Illinois.

However, I would rather live in the Chicago area where there are more Koreans and East Asians (or any other Asians or minorities) than here in this god awful hoosier state. WTF does hoosier mean anyways? Sounds like an underwear company.

Iono, Cali seems like a very racist place. I always hear about these race wars goin on. Just because there's lots of Asians there doesn't mean it's a good place for them to live. I live in a place w/ barely any Asians, but there is hardly any racial conflict.

What you said is so true. Just because California has a lot of Asians on a percentage-basis, doesn't mean that California is a great place for minorities. Perhaps Cali is a great place for hispanic/latinos to live in, since Cali is right above Mexico and there is a very very high # and ratio of hispanics to non-hispanics. But for Asians, eh, forget about Cali. Move to Hawaii or my good hometown Seattle. Portland, Oregon is okay, but there are less Asians living there compared to Seattle. If it has to be Cali, I would rather live in the Bay Area, such as San Jose, Cupertino or Pleasanton where there are a lot of East Asians. Sacramento is okay, but there are KKK organizations within the outer parts of Sac. Daly City has a lot of Filipinos.

I think california's a nice place to live.
All the different races kindof peacefully co-exist here.
i've lived in the southern states and.. wow
its not very friendly unless you're affiliated with some religion, at the most.
socal's a beautiful nice place to live. too bad living expenses are getting higher.

Totally hahah. At my area, Asian population is so plentiful that you can't a town without pho, Chinese combo meals, thai food, sushi, korean tofu bowl, korean bbq, etc... man it's the best =]

lol seattle is better than cali? hell nah i need sunshine. lol cali is the best place for minorities. anyplace with diverse cultures (i.e. nyc, la) is going to be more open to it (less racisit[everybody is racist to some point]) than other communities. bay area is dope but i dont think i would ever move out of la county permenantly.

lol the race wars are between blacks and hispanics and if you dont do any criminal activity than you most likely have nothing to worry about.

cali is a terrible place to live. i lived there for 2 years, moved from illinois and came right back.

I would never ever raise (Asian) children there. There's a type of bull$hit internalized racism that asians carry around in cali. You have your losers (see this forum), and your people that overcompensate for being "asian" (internalized racism) by being MORE "asian"

The Mexicans here in So Cali seem to hate blacks more than they hate Asians. Ive lost count of how many times a Mexican has used the "N" word in my prescene, if not the "N" word, its the "M" word, "Mayate".

All things that goes on in Long Beach just goes to show you that Asians, arent afraid of Mexicans, we're just afraid of their numbers!
