I know it's long, but it's worth it!

- Do you know Korea?
- Just 50 years ago,
- They lost everything they had
- To those who had only just left the Japanese occupation,
- War was just too brutal
- Nobody spoke of words such as 'future' or 'tomorrow'
- that rashly carried any glimpse of hope
- As for them 'tomorrow' was
- Yet another 'today' where they were not sure of living it through
- and all that was allowed to them was a little prayer for their survival
- No other nation in the world was poorer than this country
- For them the only dream was
- to live another day without going hungry
- and they hoped that their children will not inherit this hunger
- For them living was just too cruel a torture
- and even if they were to collapse onto their feet and gave up
- it wouldn't have been surprising at all
- But they
- never gave up, and nor did they ever ran away
- Even if there wasn't going to be a tomorrow for them
- they did pray for the tomorrow their children might have
- There were about 120 countries who had joined UN at the time
- and Korea's GNP per capita was
- lower than Thailand's $220US
lower than the Phillipines' $170US
at just $76US
- Daehanminguk was the 2nd poorest nation in the world, only above India
- In 1962, despite the US' continued attempt to block them Korea was able to secure a loan of 140 million Mark from another divided country, West Germany
- Nurses and miners that West Germany needed were sent over, and their wages were put up as a security for the loan
- The first thing those young nurses had to do when they arrived in an unfamiliar land and before their credentials were accepted, was cleaning hard, rigid corpses with just gauzes and alcohol
- And the miners persevered the extreme geothermal heat and worked away over a thousand meters underground
- Moved by their heart wrenching effort the government of West Germany invited the president of Korea, and so those miners and nurses gathered in the hall to see their president
- Prior to the presidential speech people sang Aegukka, but their voices were choked and they couldn't finish the anthem. The president put away his speech note, and only repeated the same phrase over and over
- "Everyone, let's work hard. Let us work hard so that at least our children will never be sold overseas"
- "We'll do anything!" The miners wept, and bowed at the West German president and begged, "Please help our country! Please help our President!"
- Leaving behind the crying miners and nurses, the President wept in the car all the way back to his hotel
- The West German President, Lübke, handed him a handkerchief and promised, "We will help, the people of West Germany will help."
- And so the modernisation of Korea had begun
- with the nurses and miners sent to West Germany
- Troops sent to Vietnam was the catalyst for the revival of Korean economy
- and the combat allowances of the war veterans were spent to build the national highways
- Blood began to pump strongly in Korea's veins
- Even under the harsh, scorching sun of the Middle East, the dollars were earned day and night with blood like tears and sweat
- Young girls worked in the wig, clothes, shoes and textile factories living on instant noodles to produce goods for export, and earned money to pay for their younger siblings' education
- And we achieved democracy
- 1950, and 50 years from then on
My country, Daehanminguk
- Construction industry, the third largest in the world
- Independent Nuclear Plant usage rate, 5th in the world
- Steel refining industry, 5th in the world
- Ship building industry, 1st in the world
- Top 12 biggest trading nations in the world
4th largest foreign reserves in the world (Less than 5 years after the country went bankrupt during the so-called IMF crisis)
- Computer distribution rate, 1st in the world,
High speed internet connectivity, 1st in the world,
School's IT related facilities, 1st in the world,
Digital Opportunity Ratio, 1st in the world
- Do you believe in miracles?
- I dare say, that this has been a miracle
- Some people ask
- Why are Koreans so proud of being Koreans, and why do they regard patriotism so highly,
- but we want to ask them instead
- how could we not be proud of our people
- We are not proud just because we were able to escape from the clutches of poverty
- it is the noble spirit that does not want the painful history that is embedded in our veins to repeat, and hurt others
- The existence of such noble spirit in Daehanminguk made what we have 'today'
- And now we promise,
we'll pass on an even better country to our children
- and we'll make sure to leave one that you'll also feel proud of
- I love you!

Oh, and, here's some more to piss off some more insecure Viets;

Yeah but too bad that tiny apartments are still a a step up from caves. LOL
Doesn't change the fact that you live in jungle huts, which is more or less the same as caves.
QUOTE
Unfortunetly that's a stupid example considering the number of Chinese and Russians who "fought" were very insignificant and didn't even cross over into South Vietnam to fight. Any retard can put 1 and 1 together to know that that's a retarded counterexample against the 1 million Chinese who fought for North Korea and was the only reason why North Korea wasn't defeated. lol
Tip: South Vietnamese, American, Koreans and Australians didn't cross into North Vietnam to fight, either.
QUOTE
lol I was talking to this black guy once about how he and his friends had some fun with Korean girls last week at the US army base in SK. He told me how he didn't see those girls as human beings at all and just commodies that were exchanged for US aid. lol
I believe someone used to post an article about how America particularily Los Angelos has a huge Korean Prostitute problem. lol I guess my black friends shipped a lot of Korean girls back to the U.S for some fun. But I guess no matter how much money the US gives them an ape will still be an ape right?
Why do you think Cho Seung Hui was targetting black people? Cause they took away all his Korean girls in SK and he couldn't deal with the loss so had to go on those killings.

Sorry, I couldn't hear your whining over a whole bunch Viet 'hos offering themselves to me for $5.
QUOTE
Why would I NOT compare North Korea? SK was built by US money and US aid so it isn't truly represtative of the Korean people. While NK is built primarily by Koreans without much aid (which has finally reached the level of finding caves for shelter)
You are saying that Vietnam is currently being built by nothing but themselves? Yeah, sure. With that kind of delusional thought, it's a no-brainer why Vietnam is still warped back in the '70s, trying to wiggle itself out of whatever puddle it's in, and ranks worse than Nigeria in terms of GDP. Do yourselves a favor and keep encouraging your fellow Viets to kiss foreigners' asses and work for them for 10¢ a day. Who knows, maybe their pay will be raised by a cent or two if they keep up.
QUOTE
Say what you want but we still know those conditions are better than what the true Korean nation (NK) which was built by Koreans has.
Hahaha! You wish. I laid out the differences between Vietnam and North Korea in my previous post, yet you still haven't grasped the facts yet. I'm not saying what I want, but I'm saying what's true. So, yeah, keep on dreaming, and remember to kiss some more asses and offer some blowjobs once in a while, too.
