you know how most asian-americans have or go by european first names? i rarely see japanese-americans doing the same thing, is it because japanese names are easier to pronounce for americans? i'm not japanese so fill me in on this
liu
they are too proud to have english names, it's more identifiable to japanese if they just have a Japanese first name

i only met one japanese girl with an english name
tffy

i know a cbj girl with an english name. But, I think it might be because jpn names are easier to pronounce? for white people

I know plenty of Japanese Americans (myself included), and pretty much all of us have English first names, Japanese middle names, and (of course) Japanese last names. It's just easier for every English speaking person here; I know a guy named Isshin, and have heard pretty much every corruption of the name possible.

Eh, I think it's like half and half. But most famous Japanese Americans have European first names, Kristi Yamaguchi, George Takei, Pat Morita just to name a few...compare that to Masi Oka and who else?
xeemlauj
LOL, there many Japanese with English Names.

Are you kidding me? Try to go cities like San Jose, Calif; Seattle; Honolulu and other Asian cities, and you'll see that there are a lot of Japanese-Americans with English names.

Ex: Brandon Takeyama
David Tamekazu
George Takahashi
Carol Shimizu

etc.

I only know a few Japanese-Americans with Japanese first names.
