i love fighting games. I'm more of a 3d fan, but 2d fighters will still always hold a place in my heart. Here are some of my favorites. Feel free to list yours.

Capcom - everybody knows this company right? I was never really a big fan of the Marvel vs series. That $hit is too hectic with all the air combos and tag team super combos. I like the simpler games

Street Fighter Alpha III - The best street fighter game ever. It's balanced, it's got all the characters with all the different ism modes. Great for serious competition.

Capcom vs SNK II - even though this game is mad unbalanced, it's still lots of fun to play because of the great ensemble of charcters and the ability to customize.


SNK - the underdog company. I always preferred SNK fighters to capcom. The characters just seemd to have more personality. Also, SNK came up with lots of great ideas. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they were the first to implement super moves, desperation moves, and a weapon-based fighter, among other great inovations.

KOF series (especially 98 and 2003) - the best characters from Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting, plus much more! Almost all the games in the series are unique in some way. I haven't played XI yet, but it looks really tite.

Samurai Showdown series (especially I,II, and V) - the first(?) and best weapons based fighter. I really want to play Tenkaichi Kenkakuden.

Last Blade II - this game is great! it's the same concept as showdown, but it's on some different ish.

Garou Mark of the Wolves - i liked Fatal Fury II and special, but this is my favorite out of the series.


does anyone use that Kalleria thing on Mame? I haven't had some good competition in a while.

i like third strike in terms of gameplay and fighting system, but i don't really like the characters.

i mean oro, urien, necro, alex (he's supposed to be the main character???) wtf?
