i know a few people who have to be evacuated and lots of people from schools that have been shut down. i think they're telling all sd schools to let their students go home but im not sure. i live in san diego and they never told us to stay home and my mom made me. when i came on campus it was like grey skies and kids were kicking up ashes. it made my throat real sore and scratchy. it was just $hit man. i just hope it doesn't move in since it's surrounding us.

I don't live down there but I am in the Inland Empire and my college campus had to be evacuated too because of the strong winds and fires nearby...

Praying for all those in the effected areas. If the evacuation orders come then do so without delay! Homes can be rebuilt...people aren't so easily replaced! May you and your love ones be safe.

So far the fires haven't reached where I live. I think the closest to us is Porter Ranch.

I just got off the phone with my friend down at UCSD. They're closing down for a week, so she's coming back here.

And holy crap, 1 million people evacuated....crazy.

Good fortune arrived at last in aid to the excellent fire services we got beerchug.gif , with most of the fires contained in the Santa clarita valley can i have a good night sleep.
It was a very touch & go yesterday, when we had 2 fires (buckweed - stevenson ranch) both ferosously blazing in the horizons at the same time!.

Buckweed now 80% contained and stevenson ranch in the 70's is good news.

Fingers crossed the Castaic fire doesnt get any bigger or spread. With the co operation of the weather, will give the firefighters be able to put out all fires for good. I hope the neighboring counties make a swiftly recovery.

Southern California Wildfires

In October 2007, over a dozen wildfires across Southern California, United States forced the evacuation of thousands of residents. This evacuation comes almost four years to the day after the Cedar Fire of 2003.
At least one person has been reported dead.
Fires burned in Malibu , Lake Arrowhead , Irvine , San Diego , and many other places. California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles , Orange , Poway, Riverside , San Bernardino , San Diego , Santa Barbara , and Ventura counties as a result.
This is the worst case of wildfires Southern California has ever had.

Pray for all the people that have lost their homes.
Pray these fires die down soon.
Pray for the firefighters and their safety.

wow that's pretty bad. I'm always sad to hear of a big forest fire.. Our trees are getting more and more limited.. plus think of all the animals that it affects. I'm a nature lover lol But this cali fire is pretty bad. Hope it didn't affect any of our forum members.
Byron
That's so sad.
